Depends on what type of input your monitor has - if there is an rca socket [usually yellow] then you can take a composite video signal from a suitable set top box [via a similar rca socket or the scart]

Picture gets blurred and then disappears.

christian204, Your unit may be 5 -6 years old, and may have developed a problem with it's internal "switch-mode-power-supply" and will need good CCFL backlit lcd monitor tech to repair it. When strange and wierd things start to occur on lcd screens the first place to look would be the SMPS. 12fixlouie

Burn in mode

Normally pressing up/down enter should get you out of the burn-in mode.Has the problem surfaced suddenly or some sequence of buttons have got you to this mode?

Installed new monitor, lost my sound

If your previous monitor had built in speakers and your new monitor does not you are going to have to purchase new speakers. If your new lcd monitor has an audio input you can purcahse a sterio mini jack cable for under $10 at any store that sells computer stuff (circuit city, best buy, walmart, target, etc). Simply plug one end into your monitor and the other end into your computers audio output jack (usually color coded green). Now of course if that monitor does not have built in speakers your only option is to purcahse a set of speakers for the computer. These usually start at around $15.
