SOURCE: what cables for yamaha keyboard psr295 to connect with tascam 144

There are different options depending on what you want to achieve. If you want to send only MIDI data to your PC (for example, to run a VST instrument), then you can use a standard MIDI cable to connect the "out" on your keyboard to the "in" on your Tascam. You should also be able to use the Yamaha USB cable to connect directly to your computer, which would then bypass the Tascam (still giving you the same outcome, but without the need to buy any extra cables.
However, if you want to send the audio data (i.e. the actual sound) of the keyboard to your PC, you would simply use a standard guitar lead from the line out of the keyboard into the line in (both, if your keyboard has stereo outs) of your Tascam. This will eliminate any need for VST instruments, as you will be recording the audio signal directly.

SOURCE: Using a Tascam US122L with garageband via USB

hi, you might first want to check your performance settings by clicking the apple and clicking prefernces then setting it to high performance under the power ratings options.
also update the drivers from http://tascam.com/product/us-122l/downloads/
other than that it may be a problem with the unit. make sure if your using a laptop you are using a power supply.
also check the usb lead and compatibility of the unit.

I was hoping to find a free download for a yamaha-ypt-300 keyboard but no luck

Try to search for XG midisongs and karaoke files (song extentions should be .mid and .kar) on the Internet. There are lots of free songs out there!

I cant connect my yamaha ypt 320 to my pc using the midi

Assuming you have a MIDI interface on your computer, you need to connect the MIDI cables between the keyboard and the PC. You cross connect, that is, in to out and vice versa. You will ALSO need the driver software for the interface in the PC AND most importantly, some software in the PC to handle the MIDI for instance to record.

Please teach me how to do a recording of bits with the keyboard PSR S710, it uses a USB drive, but i don't know how to use it

You need to have a basic recording program installed on your computer. If you use Apple you can use garageband. If you use Windows you can install audacity http://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/
You will have to install the drivers of our yamaha keyboard than connect it with the usb cable to your computer and select the PSR S710 as an input in your recording program.

When I power my ypt-300 the LCD lights up and

Press the FUNCTION button till "Local Control" appears and then select it "On".

It appears this may take quite a bunch of presses to get down to the Local Control option.

Refer to your manual around pages 56 and 57 to see the list you step through. Local Control is about 2/3 the way down page 57.

Refer to 59 for the simple instruction toe set Local Control on or off.

You can get a free download of the manual at:

Click on the resources tab to get to the download.

Yamaha pt300 keyboard. only make loud humming sound. Keys register on monitor when touchedas do change in song etc...but no sound other than humming.

If the unit uses a wall transformer, make sure you have the right unit.

The Yamaha correct ones are branded Yamaha. Use of the wrong one can damage keybooard or be inoperative.

The PT300 did not come up as a valid keyboard. Suspect the number is either YPT-300 or a P-300..
