When I sign in to messenger I get a security alert that someone else has name on my account. What is this?

If your sure it's not a hacked account you might have been logged in from another computer or tablet, The Yahoo Account shows a different IP address logged in at the same time so you get an alert.

I have the same alert from my Yahoo mail that i check from PC and cell phone..

Question, if i'm logged into yahoo msgr on my desktop and then login to it on my iphone, does it show a "logout" followed by a "login" message to other users?

Yes. However, individual yahoo messenger users can specify what alerts appear on their messenger clients. The default for yahoo messenger will send alert that you have logged in when you move from your desktop computer to your iphone.

I cannot open my yahoo mail now what i will do? there is some messages came like cookies.

Hello,

Yahoo is probably working on some things.

Try to log in your yahoo messenger, and view from the yahoo page that comes up, only that you will not be able to reply messages or compose.

A solution that might work is if you can get a friend to send you a mail, then you log into your yahoo messenger, an alert will come up that you have a new message, click on the message and you yahoo mail will open, if it does not open, then it means the problem is from yahoo and all you have to do is to wait a little while, lets say a day or two, then it will work perfectly fine once again.

It might be due to some technical problem on yahoo.

Take care and good luck

Is yahoo have a mail alert sign or alarm.

Yes, Yahoo messenger does have alerts. You can mange your alerts when you are logged in Yahoo messenger by clicking on the "Messenger" menu and clicking "Preferences". Alternatively, you can press Ctrl + Shift + P. When you are in "Preferences" window, click on "Alerts & Sounds." You can enable or disable alerts. See the screenshot given here for further information.

If you are running yahoo messenger 10, can u switch back to yahoo messenger 9.0 plus, i cannot get my yahoo messenger email alerts to come up at the bottom right side of task bar.

If you wanted to downgrade your yahoo messenger, better uninstall it and install version 9.0

here is version 9. Click it and save to start downloading
1. yahoo messenger 9.0

You can enable the setting of Alerts and Sounds of your yahoo messenger.. to appear a short notification on your taskbar, just follow these steps.
1. Log in to your yahoo messenger
2. On your yahoo window, find the on the top the Messenger menu. Click it and select Preferences.
3. On Category, select Alert and Sounds
4. Click to check the box for "Showing a message at the bottom right corner of the screen.
(you can also enable alert sounds)
5. Click OK.

that's it. I hope that helps.

Each time i got yahoo mail, my yahoo messenger pops up. i don't need it

  1. Open Yahoo! Messenger
  2. Click Messenger --> Preferences or CTRL+Shift+P
  3. Under category click Alerts and Sounds
  4. In the "Alert me when" box click "I receive email in Yahoo! Mail"
  5. Uncheck the boxes next to "Displaying a dialog box", "Showing an icon in the system tray" and "Showing a message in the bottom right corner of my screen". If you prefer not hear the pow alert as well uncheck "Playing a sound..."
  6. Click OK and you're done.
So as not to leave you in the dark, let's also define these three options:
"Displaying a dialog box" is the Windows dialog box that pops up notifying you of new mail. "Showing an icon in the system tray" is the envelope that appears when new mail arrives. "Showing a message in the bottom right corner of my screen" is the box that comes up giving you the subject of the message or how many emails.
Additionally, you can customize all your alerts in a very similar manner: Select the alert you want to change then check or uncheck the boxes as desired. You can even change what sounds you hear.
Hope that helps take some of the aggregation out of your computing experience!\

Start-> Run-> CMD->Msconfig-> Start up tab-> Uncheck Yahoo Messenger-> Apply-> Close-> Restart the computer.
