When i click properties, to change my video settings, like gama, saturation, etc. it won't open. i've tried to reinstall the software, but it didn't fix anything. My video is stuck on black and white and i can't change it b ecause my prefrences won't open.

1st You download Webcam Driver. Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 Webcam Settings After this install the Webcam driver in the system. Installation of Webcam Driver Go to the control panel Click on the System Icon Click on the Hardware Tab Click on the Device Manager s Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it. Right click on it and uninstall it. After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes. Driver installation Wizard start. Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next. Driver will be install.

I do not know the second program ( explorer express) but there will be a similar arrange for making your Hardware default
What you can do is click the Sound Icon beside the Nudge Button. It might bring up a window titled "Set up Audio and Video - Speaker/Microphone or Speakerphone" the Microsoft Vx-3000 has a microphone built in, so you can change your audio settings to "Microsoft Vx-3000" , then click next. The next one is Webcam. You can change the default settings to Microsot vx-3000.
If you've tried changing your settings for MSN before, then I'm not sure. This is the clever way for me :P
HI, OK, you need to do the following to turn off your Webcam Mic.
1. Right Click On Volume Icon in System Tray 2. Click Open Volume Control 3. Click On Options When The Mixer Appears. 4. Select Properties 5. Adjust The Volume For Recording 6. Then Just Look For The Mic Channel on the Mixer & Set it to Mute or if ut's not available, turn the Volume Fader for the Mic Right Down,
Right Click the volume icon in the taskbar.
Select RECORDING DEVICES, Select the device you wish to use. Click properties.
Ensure it says ENABLE (use this device).
Then Click the ADVANCED TAB at the top and make sure it is set to "ALLOW APPLICATIONS TO TAKE CONTROL OF THIS DEVICE".
Then open the Messenger software you use and click the tool tab. Then click the Cam/Audio option.
Make sure you have the correct mic/cam selected.
