Question about Computers & Internet

Open Question

D347bus.sys my laptop is a compaq presario 900 with the mobile amd 1.5GHz processor. I have windows xp home 2002 version,SP2. i had a virus or spyware infest my system, i tried running every antivirus whatchamawhoosit i could find and still couldn't get rid of it. I found a folder called my star search or something like that, that i thought was the problem and deleted it. Next thing i know everytime i startup i get to the compaq screen and then it restarts. I can start in safe mode with networking now. But i still can't startup normally. i deleted the d347bus.sys after reading another forum where they said it was not a true system file and it was related to daemon tools somehow. it does the same thing. i failed to mention that when it was in its endless restarting loop i could choose to boot in safe mode and it would list the files as it loaded them , i assume, and it would get to this file and say press esc to cancel loading whatever you did it would restart. now after deleting it. it hangs up at the same point it would when d347bus.sys was still installed any help would be nice

Gateway gt5012 2.8 ghz dual core 250 gb sata hitachi 1 gb ram Xp media centre with sp3
Pc reboots constantly at windows black screen colored boxes. using F8 to disable auto restart results in BSOD bad_pool_caller stop 000000c2 with 00000043. tried safe mode and safe mode with command prompt .
hung on d347bus.sys then rebooted again. always reboots at same place.
Bought new drive used OEM recovery disk to create new windows and installed sp3 and anti virus (mcafee, spybot, superantispyware, spywareblaster, and firewall zonealarm). new drive is now drive c old drive is drive F: I can read and run scandisk on old disk , one error found and fixed in a my documents folder, no other errors.
boot from new drive navigate to old drive windows/system32/drivers and rename d347bus.sys and d347prt.sys. still cannot reboot from old drive same symptom. Tried all options in F8 option (note must hit F10 to choose old drive to boot from it.) Given the other drive boots fine it cannot be memory or battery or bus or motherboard or any hardware . Must be a bad file somewhere ....But which one been working on it a few days reading lots of forums for ideas. I do not have a XP install disk only the OEM recovery disk. I do not have an I386 folder on the root directory, so I dont think I can create a boot disk from my good install?? Any ideas that I have not tried??

How did you delete it? Did you use the XP recovery console?

Your computer might not pass the system requirements that's why it has an error. Or, you can try installing it one more time and check if it will work. Computers do mess up sometimes.

Here's the system requirement of SIMS 3:

Desktop PC (Windows XP + SP2):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2000+ Processor
RAM: 1 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce FX 5900 or Radeon 9500)

Desktop PC (Windows Vista + SP1):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2400+ Processor
RAM: 1.5 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce FX 5900 or Radeon 9500)

Laptop (Windows XP + SP2):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2000+ Processor
RAM: 1.5 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce Go 6200 or Radeon 9600)

Laptop (Windows Vista + SP1):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2400+ Processor
RAM: 2 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce Go 6200 or Radeon 9600)

IF your computer does not pass the system requirement, then you cannot play sims3 in your computer.

I hope this helps. Thank you for using fixya

The yellow ? indicate the various device drivers that was not installed, which would include the LAN card and or wireless card. That is why you are not connecting to the Internet.
You need to download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP or Vista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Use this link to download the drivers: -
