  • It may asks for password, if you have created a password to get into your router's page type it in. Otherwise, just leave it blank.
  • Once you're in the User Interface of your router, click Wireless sectionfrom the menu. Then click on Security.
  • There you will find the wireless security key or network key enabled in your router.
Hope this helps!

How do I get the security key for my dynex dx-wegrtr without the manual

Log into the routers interface usually 192.168.1.1 or check the default gateway address with the ipconfig command in the command prompt. Then navigate to the wireless security tab and the key should be listed.

It sounds like you don't have the correct security (WEP/WPA) key. if you are trying to connect to your own network, I need more information. if you are trying to connect to someone else's network, please stop, it's illegal.

Hi,

If i am able to understand your problem, you have lost the network key ( or the password you have set to your router for security purpose )

If this is the issue, i will be able to help you find the key for your network ( it is called WEP or WPA or WPA2 key )

Follow the instructions below and you will be able to fix the issue. Click on the link given below.

I need to get the security pin number for Dynex Router. I have moved and can not fine the package I had the software in.

Are you trying to connect to the wireless network on a VISTA computer ?
sometimes it will ask you for the PIN number on a vista computer . In that case on the same window, at the bottom, you will find the option , I want to enter the key or I want to connect to the network. Click on that option .
After that it will ask you for the wireless password , if your network is secured.
If you are looking PIN for other purpose then the PIN number might be on the back side of the router also. It is 8 digit number.

If there's computer strongly connected (by network wire) to your router, go to the following site: http://192.168.2.1, leave the password empty, from there when you get inside you may see the key (try looking for any menu contains the word wireless)

the key code is the security code or the password that is enabled in the router, are you trying to connect to you own comcast network or to someone elses??
if you are conecting to your own comcast network then you need to log into the computer which can go online using you comcast box, once you are in that computer you need to go ahead and click on start, run in the box type in cmd and hit enter,it shud open a black box for you in this black box go ahead and check the default gateway an example of default gateway wud be like this no 192.168.1.1,make a note of the default gateway and open an internet explorer page now type the default gateway in the address box without http,it shud open the router page for you from comcast,it will tell you to put in the user name and password, the default for comcast is username is comcast and password is 1234 incase you cannot login you can contact comcast so that they can reset the password for you, once you are in this page you will see the wireless setting click on it and there you will see something wghich says wireless security or wep key or authentication key that is the key code..u can now use this key code to connect to the network....
if you are trying to conect to someone elses network thent he person who has setup the wireles comcast network will be able to give you the network key...

Siemens router & Dynex adapter

Double check if there is any wireless security enabled in your router. Verify if the type of security enabled in your router is already supported by your wireless adapter. If the wireless security enabled in your router is not supported by your adapter, change the security to something that will work with your adapter.

Try connecting your computer with dynex Wireless G USB to different wireless network for further isolation.
