Question about HP DeskJet F4280 All In One Printer InkJet
Hi, Today I seemed to successfully install my HP F4280 Deskjet, but whenever I try to print anything regardless of the type of document (excel, word, acrobat, ...) the moment I selected my printer from the printer list, I got an error message which closes down the entire program.
I have already un-installed and reinstalled but the problem persists. I also tried to download a "light" generic installation program from the HP site but the problem persists. In case it helps, my computer is an HP Compaq presario laptop with Windows XP.
Aside from the printer issue, my computer works fine.
Sounds like the drivers are not installing properly. Are you installing through the CD or downloading the drivers from the HP website. Since a lot of the new drivers are no longer supporting XP you will need to download a scrubber utility and delete all of the pre installed drivers and attempt to reinstall through a manual installation of the drivers.

SOURCE: HP Deskjet F4280 Ink Level
when you refill the cardtridge, you can not reset the ink level... because refilling doesn't show the ink levels.. you no need to worry. if ink is there in the carttridge it will print...
Shouldn't worry about it. They are only a rough guide. The only time to worry about it is when the printer stops working and it has told you it's run out of ink! Thank you.......

You may not see a paper jam.
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.
First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.
If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.
And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

SOURCE: I have a HP Deskjet
Hi. This is a common issue for generic cartridge. If you noticed, there is a chip infront of the cartridge. That is a unique chip that only the printer can identify. Usually generic cartridges manufacture their own chips which is 80% no recognized by the printer. I suggest you purchase original cartridge to resolved this issue. You can also bring the printer where you purchase the cartridgefor you to have a proof that the printer is not detecting the cartridge. Maybe they can give you another one for free.
