Blurry screen I have an in focus model 4805 and i recently attached my PS3 to it. It worked fine for about a week and now the image is blurred, no matter if im using the PS3 or just viewing videos. Im not too familiar with the product and i have not tried to resolve the problem in any way. Any suggestions on what may have happened and how can i fix it? Thank you for your time and consideration.

Re: Blurry screen

The other problem is that static images(non-moving) on sets like that can burn-out the element that produces the picture

An LCD TV set will end up burning in an image like say " a video game on pause" and your set is toast

Try refocusing first

Re: Blurry screen

Sounds like focus is out. These projectors are like cameras; they have an optic with a focus ring. Try rotating the focus. Some have electronic focus as well. If the manual focus does solve the problem, look through the menu for a focus setting adjustment.

Cannot focus uniformly across the projected screen. This seems to be more than a focus problem in that some areas of the image seem blurry as opposed to out-of-focus. Also, in what may be a related...

try bringing the screen up as close as possible to the projector and still get a focused picture. check keystone here and also for image clarity. if you still have problems, check for dust or moisture etc in the optics. check the lamp for a clean front surface. clean the air filter also. Try a different image source for differences

Projector produces very low light.

My recommendation is that since you have 2 of these machines and the other is working fine,

Pull out the lamp from the good one and place it in the faulty one.

Turn it on and check the projection quality if it is still blurry. If it is working good, then replace the lamp. If it is still blurry, a good cleaning to the lens on the projector may be a good idea.

You can also check the auto focus function of the projector and the cable that provides the video signal to the projector

You can get the manual from below link if you need to find out how to check the auto focus setting

InFocus Screenplay 4805 to PS3 Playstation 3 - Blank screen

Try pressing the "auto image" button on the projector itself. This usually will correct the sync problem.

Infocus 4805 color mostly red when using componant cable

This problem can be caused by several things.
Most commonly a poor connection involving one of the rca component connectors or a failure involving the component output of the source.

However what also works like magic is to press the auto image button that's on the projector itself and it will re-sync / re-define correctly the component source and presto it looks good again.

A power brown out can cause this to occur and a simple "auto image" reset will fix it!

Good Luck!

Blurred image from sony home theatre projector

Unfortunately an expensive repair or total replacement are probably your only real options. Electronically the projector is fine but your problem lies in the physical optics part of it. Either part of the lense assembly or the refraction array is likely damaged or at least very dirty. I wouldn't suggest trying to clean it yourself as this is a 3 LCD projector and all 3 must align perfectly after cleaning or you'll end up with seperated colors. It could also be one of the LCD's is damaged but from your description I don't think so.

I have a client that had the exact same issue with a different VPL model and it was cheaper to go out and buy a new projector than to fix it.
