Sounds like you have a defective microphone in your handset. Maybe caused by dropping of phone or water damage. Try land line phone not cordless. Just to ensure that you can hear the caller and can be heard over your phone line.
If you can complete a call successfully go and purchase another cordless phone.
You can remove your telephone line from the base unit and fix it to stranded telephone unit and hear the dial tone.If it heard then some inductor or else part may be broken inside the base unit due high current surge. If the dial tone didn't heard from the other phone also check for the corroded line cord or modular box fault with the tel line. There should be 30 Volt-50Volt D.C.Voltage at your wire ends.
I plugged in headphones that didn't work, and that messed up the audio on my lg dare phone. So to solve the problem I just got headphones that worked plugged it in and the audio worked.
I had the same problem but I got it fixed. On the main YM window hit Yahoo Voice for a drop down menu and select Calling Devices Preferences. In the Select an audio device section, select "USB AudioDevice" for the mic, speakers and ringer. It worked on mine so I believe it will work i with yours. Cheers!
If you are sure you can't be heard while NOT on speakerphone, it's probably a software problem, if you can be heard but can't hear while NOT on speakerphone, then it might be a bad Mic. If you really can't be heard while NOT on speakerphone and you are out of other options, perform a HARD RESET to restore the phone to factory (or current ROM) settings. Check to make sure the mute function isn't being initiated when you take the phone off speakerphone or start a call.
