Try remove your VGA card and reinsert and test. And if the problem persist then test your monitor to the other PCs and if it displays then it could be the card is bad or the monito's resolution was ajusted causing to be uncompatible for your PCs resolution.

Hooked up New Hp comp (tower only) to slightly new HP2007 monitor but there is no sound.Could you give me an idea of what I missed?

Make sure the audio cable supplied with the monitor is connected correctly. Make sure it is connected to the green (speaker out) jack at the back of tower and the same green (audio in) jack on the monitor. Also make sure the volume on both your PC and monitor is turned up and not muted

Gateway FPD1750 monitor's keep go black screen, no picture at al

tgordon60, If you know how those NEW "CURLIE-Q" energy efficient CFL light bulbs produce WHITE LIGHT, then you will know what makes an LCD display panel produce all the pretty colors and the WHITE BACKGROUND of the FIXYA web page!!! Only difference is that your "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" are thinner and straight, and hung on rear of LCD glass panel and have a DC to AC electronic ballast called an "INVERTER" circuit to produce 600 to 1000vac to light them up. Get to my FIXYA profile and read my responses to other BLACK screen lcd owners to learn about all your options for repair. Follow any of the links to other web pages you find there. It is turned on but screen stays black once tower is powered up.

we need to make sure whether its a Tower problem or monitor Problem>
Do this simple test> Disconnect the Cable that connects the Tower to the Monitor(while the tower and the monitor are on)> then see if you have any error msg on the monitor screen> if you have someting that says "Chk video cable" or " no signal"
Ur monitor is fine and the tower is faulty> IF not thn ur monitor has gone bad>

Monitor led light goes from green to orange will not respond

Your video card or on-board video is kaput. If it worked fine on the other system, but not working on this one ... then you've blow the video.

One note: When the computer is ON, do NOT unplug and re-plug in the monitor. You'll blow the video card.

Luckily, add-on video cards are cheap and readily available ...

Dell Computer Monitor - Black Screen

If it worked on a computer at the IT person, it is most likely a faulty graphics card in your computer. You may want to get that checked out.

I would guess the capacitors are bulging or leaking. It can be repaired if you are handy with a soldering iron. Good Luck.

Monitor problem

erickalin - it sounds like your computer might have shut down and failed to come back up again. If you have access to another monitor, try hooking it up to your computer instead of the one you normally use (that won't stay on). If the second monitor won't stay on, the problem is your computer. You might have to take it to your local computer geek or computer store to get serviced. If your computer DOES work with the second monitor, you might need to have your monitor serviced or replaced. Good luck!

supposed2b, I think you have the same problem, although your computer doesn't even sound like it's powering up. Your power supply might be faulty or an internal component (CPU or memory most likely) of your computer has died. Double check your power connections and ensure that when you press the power button you hear the computer start up and the light on the front comes on (hopefully green or blue, but not yellow or red). Again, you might need to take your computer in for service.
Good luck!
