The problem is probably a setting with the Monitor itself. You can adjust the horizonal and vertical settings on the monitor itself. Sometimes it is accessed by a menu button on the monitor or by a knob.

Look around on the monitor and see if you can adjust it there!

After installing Windows 10: (1) homepage is too wide, (2) Word ribbon takes up too much space, (3) Chrome ribbon takes up too much space, (4) e mail is distorted (too wide).

It seems that you upgraded from windows xp. If you know how to change the resolution that might cure the problem. Windows 10 doesn't work very well with older video cards.
The interface is different so it is a bit difficult to guide you with instructions to adjust the video resolution

I have a gateway sx2110g need to change bios to legacy i am running windows xp i am trying to install windows 8

STOP!!!
before you update, check what devices need drivers and if you still can get drivers for these devices, like sound card, video card, but also when you have a webcam and wireless keyboard and mouse.
Since Window's 7 you need Microsoft certified drivers and your old XP drivers can't be used anymore.
Feel free to setup windows 8.1, but make sure you have a image for your old configuration, so you always can go back when you can't get enough drivers to let the computer run like you used to.

How can I update video card drivers? I have a windows XP 2011 brand computer and I just reset it. If you could give suggestions that would help. I couldn't make a video my brother was sleeping.

Hi Brittney, are you able to open windows to your desktop? If your pc is coming up with a box asking for drivers then tick the allow web access to look for drivers then continue through. If this doesn't work, if you go into the control panel, then into device manager, you can look down the list of hardware on your computer, the one for graphics card will most likely have a yellow exclamation mark on it. Right click and select update drivers. If you know the manufacturer and model of the graphics adapter then you can go to their website to download the latest drivers. Hope this helps.

Video card wont update

There are a lot of possible reasons why your video card is not updating.

If you want to make sure that all drivers including your video card's and the other drivers available in your computer are updated, then install RadarSync. It's an automatic updater and driver back up utility that works for Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.

I hope this helps!

My computer won't display an image. It starts up (sometimes) and it logs on, but it won't display an image. I know it's not the monitor because I've also tried to connect to the computer using Teamviewer,...

If the board that is sittng on goes out the back of the computer, I'm thinking it's a video card. If i'm correct can you tell me what kind of hook ups it has off of it on the back of your computer and is that what you use to connect monitor?

What video card is in my computer?

You can right click the mouse on the windows desktop and select PROPERTIES, there you select the SETTINGS tab and look for a resolution slider, move it and see if you can find the resolution you need.

To find out what video card you have, you can click on the ADVANCED button on that same SETTINGS tab. It will open a new window where you will need to click on the ADAPTER tab. There will be the info on the graphic card, the resolutions it can support will be listed on the LIST ALL MODES... button.

Take into account you might have an integrated graphics card, so it may be necessary to know the manufacturer of the motherboard in order to find an updated driver that supports the new resolutions of new wide screen monitors.

Any other doubt on this subject feel free to ask on this same post.

If you are using Windows XP, you can use the Roll back driver feature. Go to the device manager then to the properties of your Graphics card. Go to the driver tab then press the roll back driver button.

Blu-ray problems from blu-ray computer drive.

Vista takes significantly more procesing power from your CPU than XP did. The colored squares, or pixellation, are a result of your computer's processor having a bit of trouble keeping up with the demands of the Blu Ray video. To resolve this, you can do several things: Upgrade your CPU(You can upgrade the the highest CPU your current motherboard will allow) Upgrade your RAM, (RAM is fairly cheap for the bang you get and will be the cheapest upgrade option.) Max it out if you can. Reinstall XP back on your computer. (Cheapest option, period). This time, use Ghost or some other imaging program to image your Hard Drive once you get it working correctly so that you can recover in minutes as opposed to reformat-reinstall next time.
