Question about Yahoo Mail

6 Answers

Signed for ATT.net account, why yahoo now? not getting mails.

I signed up for att.net, not yahoo, but I do have a yahoo account, but it is different than my att.net account. my yahoo is gunnygirl69@yahoo.com, but my att.net account is ladygadiva830@att.net.
How do I sign on to ATT.net instead of yahoo... or are they the same?

Had I known that I would be signing up for another Yahoo email account when I updated my AT&T one, I would never have made the switch. When AT&T gave us the information about this supposed "upgrade" in service, they should have let their account members know what was going to happen. Now, when I try to get on to ATT, my Yahoo account comes up.

ATT.net creates a new Yahoo account for you when you sign up for their service. You now have a Yahoo account that can be accessed with the ladyg.....@att.net as the user and whatever your ATT pass is.

It is possible to merge the new account with the old account:

http://helpme.att.net/article.php?item=485

The article states that you can only merge only during the registration process, but I believe this to be false.

I no longer have ATT, but there was an option to merge a Yahoo account while managing your ATT information (I belive this is accessible from your ATT home page). ATT should be able to assist you with that regardless of whether you merged during the registration process or not.

I am sorry! They are not the same! They are separate..
My Situation is the same also...
I believe that AT&T, SBC, & YAHOO are all in the same company...

I use my att.net account as my main account
and my yahoo.com account to anyone that i do not know or trust.

It actually works out in my favor, and it helps keep spam out of my main e-mail...

Don't be panic! In such situations, you should try to find out your ATT.net user ID by accessing the merged email account with the Yahoo email address. But it's not reliable in all circumstances. If you want to get the consistent resolution of your ATT email issues, even if you may not be able to get emails, then you can visit the Contact For Service, world's best online directory, listing the ATT helpline number so that the AT&T users can directly ask the help of experts. By availing the technical assistance, you can get a hassle-free solution to the ATT.net email login issues.

I know my email password at yahoo but AT&T won't give me access. How do I get it back.

If you are referring to connecting to yahoo email via ATT cell phone service, and you cancelled your ATT cell phone account, you'll have to find a different way to connect to internet. Use a PC or tablet via wifi (coffee shop, library, etc). Go to the Yahoo.com web site, click on the Mail icon at the upper RH corner, and then sign in..

I have a yahoo email account and i also have att email account how do i check myatt email account

Point your URL to: WWW.ATT.NET.

Under the email field you will see an example email address such as: (e.g., free2rhyme@att.net). If you see the att.net domain then you are in the right sign in screen.

Also, if your browser is set to remember passwords in its cache, then you might not get into this screen if you are logged into your xxxx@yahoo.com account. It will continue signing you in to yahoo.com by default. You will have to select logout on your yahoo.com account and then close and relaunch your browser and then enter att.net.

Good Luck.

I want my e-mail address to stay at dlhealey@att.net and now it's healeydot@yahoo.com....PLEASE HELP me get back to my original e-mail address....

Thanks for visiting FixYa.

Users of att.net have had their email rerouted to Yahoo. Email sent to your att.net address should be automatically forwarded to your new Yahoo account.

I'm going to send you a TEST email to your dlhealey@att.net email account. Look for it as TEST email. If you receive it, you can continue to use your att.net email address without a problem.

My inbox is somehow having everything deleted without my choosing. I've "lost" around 150 msgs. HELP! I notice that the URL line has att.net instead of yahoomail.com. What is happening?

yahoomail.com and att.net, both are synonymous. you can login using any of the links.

Regarding the mails getting deleted without your permission, you should get it resolved by contacting "yahoo-help desk", either send e-mail to customer support asking them to refresh your account or fill the feedback form and get contacted by yahoo helpdesk.

When I tried to send email from Outlook, the Internet Service Provider replied -ERR [AUTH] invalid user/password. How can I correct this error?? My ISP is att.net. I have not found a solution on that...

This means that your user/password combination is wrong for that email server. So double check that you have the right password and user name entered for that account in Outlook. If you're 100% sure you have it right, then you might be using the wrong email/authentication server. If you continue to have problems and are located near Washington DC, feel free to contact me through my website.
