Re: need software cd and usb cable
Hi, if you want to download pictures taken on camera to computer the best way is to buy an USB card reader. You take the card out of the camera, into the reader and you card will be available as a disk on your computer, allowing copying pictures very fast and easy.

I have "acquired" photographs from my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX 8 using Lumix Simple Viewer onto my computer, and I am able to view them. However, I need them in a format that I can now copy them onto a CD or attach them as files to emails (without using the "Send by e-mail" function). I am sure this is simple, but is anyone able to help me?
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.
You can download the manual from the manufacturer's web site at http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Digital-Cameras/Lumix-Digital-Cameras/model.DMC-TZ1K
I was sure it would be on the Panasonic website, but I can't find it! Amazing. Find a small camera store that sells it and beg for a copy of the CD? Try one of the photography forums - you need a friend with the same camera.
Actually, the CD is completely useless anyway. I have a DMC-TZ1 and I never use the software. Just plug the camera into a USB port and its memory appears as a disk drive in My computer so you can move the pictures to the computer. Windows has an excellent picture viewer and there are many photo editing programs available (I use the free Paint Shop Pro 4.0.)
