Sounds like your battery is dead. make sure that the charger is working properly.

can you access the cmos battery? Just take it out if you can and put it back in. unplug the charger take your battery out and plug it back in. Try to start the computer without the charger. If it does the same thing i still say the battery is probably down. Because all the blue light tells you is the charger is pluged in. Trying to limit every option because you will probably have to send it in to Hp if its the motherboard

How do I solve a problem with starting up windows in my hp pavilion g6? Whenever I start windows a blue screen appears and the computer restarts.

Sounds like your hard drive has either failed, come disconnected, or someone performed a full format of the drive which wiped out the partitions or the boot sector of the drive. Worst case you will need to replace drive and purchase reinstall disk from hp. Best case you will only need to purchase reinstall disk from hp. If you do need a new drive, I recommend purchasing it from hp directly, as it will already be prepared with hps proprietary boot configuration files which must be present for hardware to be recognized by system bios.

Hi ive got a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop with a black screen ,i have tried a external monitor and i have checked the ram but still black screen ,the lights are on and the fan is running..please help

Hi,

Just try to power cycle the unit by removing all power sources (battery, ac adapter) and pressing the power button for at least 15 seconds. If this will not work and you did not get an image from the external monitor, then you need your motherboard replaced.

Good luck.

Newer HP Pavilion dv6000 turned off while in use and wont turn on

1.Start your computer and see if your hear your fan noise, and cannot see anything on screen then there is problem with your power supply.

2.If you cannot hear your fan noise, and do not see anything on screen, then there is problem with your motherboard

3.if you hear fan noise and can see something on screen, then it is the issue with your hard disk (very less cases)

Mostly it would be the 2nd case that you will have to get your motherboard replaced

Just did this to a HP Pavilion dv6000. It worked.

for viewers benefit:
Initial problem: the notebook wouldn't boot up. when power button was pressed, blue lights will come on and only stayed on for less than 3 sec and then nothing, fan would not be spining plus no noise of hard drive activity. battery was installed and power supply was plugged in.

after watching this and similar videos decided to give this a try. I didn't have any foil paper, used a similar heat gun only heated the gpu for little more than 6 min. right after i pushed the chip ( it was kinda hot) then let it cool down,. put everything back together now is working fine. for everyone out there that tried this and it worked has anyone had additional problems with the repair. thanks.

Pavilion dv6000 when power button is pressed,

Have you tried to boot the laptop with the power cable connected? Is the charging indicator on when you connect it to the adapter? If the charging indicator does not light up, check if your adapter output and try booting it with the power cable connected.
