Auto focussing problem with nikon d90

I recently bought a D90 and it was working fine 2 dayz before and today while at a studio i was shooting the auto focussing stopped. Its just when I press the half button there is a movement at the lens but focussing seems jammed up. To me it looks like either the motor inside camera is too weak to rotate the lens or the len is too tight. I got a Nikkor 1.4 D 50mm.I m just wondering if there is a problem with the camera or lens & I got only this lens at this moment. What do u think Sir

i'm in thailand and just bought D90 for 1 week and i have a same problem with you.

i just send it to the service center in bangkok but nikon said they didn't found any problem as i told them.

So i bring it back and just 1 day (31 Dec) i have the same problem again.

i'm not sure what is the problem. Lens 18-105 VR or Body ?

This is most likely a problem with the lens. Do you have the switch on the side of the lens at 'A'? Are you able to focus manually? It is a common fault that can occur if the lens has receive a knock or the camera has been dropped. Also, grit or sand in the lens mechanism could cause this. It is recommended that you send this camera to a qualified service centre.

D90 wont shoot in auto mode. gives me r21 error. Manual mode works fine

Did you switch the Focus-mode selector to MF?
It is the switch with number 8. Perhaps you are used to switching on the lens, but on the body is also a switch. Normaly used for the older AF lenses.

The Auto focus in my D90 does not work

Does it shoot in manual focus? In which autofocus mode(s) does it not shoot? Are you trying to focus too close, or on a subject with insufficient contrast?

I just bought a new NIKON D90, and the self-timer doesn't work on the camera. Has anyone who bought this product had this problem?

Having gone over a month with no response on the continuous shooting mode, I assume this is no longer a problem.

Nikon D90 that does not want to shoot pictures

The camera may not be sensing that a lens is attached. Try removing the lens completely and then attaching it again securely.

Hahnel 280 nikon d90

Make sure you're using the right connector and have it plugged into the bottom port of the D90. Make sure the D90 is NOT set to one of the remote shooting modes.

D90 AF assist light doesn't come one in M mode???

Check to see whether you're set for AF-C in M, A, and P modes. The AF assist doesn't light in AF-C. Auto mode automatically selects AF-S, so the AF assist would come on then.

D90 Nikon autofocus problems

Try a reset (hold down both buttons with green dots next to them) and see if that helps.

Also try cleaning the contacts on the lens itself (light rub with a pencil eraser usually works well).
