Here's what you can do,
Download the files using the these links,

http://www.usbman.com/WebDrivers/WinMe%20Sys%20Files/usbauth.sys
http://www.usbman.com/WebDrivers/WinMe%20Sys%20Files/usbhub.sys
http://www.usbman.com/WebDrivers/WinMe%20Sys%20Files/usbmphlp.pdr
http://www.usbman.com/WebDrivers/WinMe%20Sys%20Files/usbntmap.sys
http://www.usbman.com/WebDrivers/WinMe%20Sys%20Files/usbstor.sys
http://www.usbman.com/WebDrivers/WinMe%20Sys%20Files/usbui.dll

Put all these files in one folder and when windows ask for the drivers, select the option to manually serach for the drivers. And point the search to the folder where you saved these files and it should fix the problem.
If this does'nt work, please let me know.

I got my PNY Attache 4g memory stick for backups and now its full. can I delete or what do i delete to make room? for newer ones? it has ready boost with 3,745,792 kb being used taking up most of the space...

If you want to use that flash drive for backing things up then I would suggest not using it for ReadyBoost. If you disable ReadyBoost on that flash drive you should have plenty of space on your flash drive for backups. Disabling it should not hurt your computer's performance at all. Here is how to disable ReadyBoost: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Turn-ReadyBoost-on-or-off-for-a-storage-device.

I have a 4GB PNY SDhc card in a Targus reader which supports hc cards, but my windows vista won't read it.

It is your windows vista. Vista had trouble with that, when it first came out. Try going to your computer manufactor's website and there should be a driver for vista.

If you're using the drive on a PC with Windows XP or Windows Vista, you don't need a driver - just plug it into the PC and Windows will recognize it and install USB drivers automatically.

4GB Attache flash drive says it's locked.

Plug in the stick. wait for it to come up on the desktop then click on it once. (do not open it).
From the file menu select "Get Info"
In the panel that opens up you will see a row of coloured squares. Underneath is a checkbox marked "Locked"
Is it empty or ticked?
If it's ticked, untick and see what happens in disk utility. If it's not ticked that then would appear to be a problem with the stick.
For what it's worth, I did a google on this stick and found that there are numerous posts about it becoming read only on Vista, so it may well be a problem with the manufacturer.
