Question about Fujitsu Siemens MCM 171E (White) 17" CRT Monitor

Open Question

Multiple colors - on the left side of the screen from top to middle I have a pure red few pixels wide - on the left site too, from middle to the bottom is blue - on the right side from the top to the middle is blue and from the middle to the bottom is normal - on the rest of the screen the image is tripled at 1-2 pixels distance horizontal: first is red, next is normal and above blue. I test with a picture made by hand if one the basic color(red, blue, green) are missing and are not. I try, deguse, don't work and I move the monitor in another position. Thanks a lot.

SOURCE: Acer monitor color is blueish

Blue cast is more likely to be due to bent pin, loose connections of the VGA cable, look for that first. It can be the video card itself, so try it with another PC also.

This is either your monitor or, more likely, your graphics card telling you it's going to fail soon.
Try another monitor, if that sorts it you're done. If not, it's the video source (graphics card).

What does it mean by dead cells?

I assume this is related to your LCD monitor.
I think you mean dead pixels. The LCD monitor has tiny pixel elements, one for each red, blue, green color and each one of these colored pixels are turnes on by a transistor. When a transistor fails then the colored pixel it controls does not light up. This is a dead pixel and it shows up as a tiny black dot.
If the screen displays a blue screen, a dead blue pixel will appear as a tiny black dot in the blue screen.
You normally would not notice a few dead pixels unless they are grouped together.

3 pixel wide stripe on lcd

Hi Casey,

If the problem is getting worse, than either the pixels are dying (so to speak) or you might have a problem with the monitor's screen.

Unfortunately, if either of the above are true, then the only way to fix it would be to replace the screen, which can be quite expensive. If you agree that this is the problem then you'd be better off getting a new monitor instead of spending money to get it repaired.

Good Luck.

Verticle blue lines, left side

Your Display cable (inside your monitor) needs to be replaced.

I would look on ebay to try and find the part and then take it to a local tech to replace it for you as I would not recommend anyone take apart a monitor (LCD OR CRT) if you had never done so before.

OR, Buy a new one.

Monitor blackening out and sudenly shuting down...

Hello! Sorry to hear of the Tennis Ball Masacre. I believe your problem to be twofold in nature. First the glass in side of the LCD screen is very fragile and the tennis ball most likely ruptured it. the streaks are most likle the liquid crystal solution leaking out. the dark streaks represent the absence of the fluid. Secondly, the monitor shut down appears to be from the back light / inverter circuitry. Sounds like it may be time for a new display. $40 to $60 for the inverter board and $80 or more for a new display screen, you may as well go the couple of extra dollars and get a new monitor. Hope this puts it in perspective for you. Sorry it is so bleak!

Red dot

That dot represent lit (stuck) red sub-pixel and if it only one that is not considerable as failure due to dead pixel warranty but you can try to solve this problem with software called screen fix. It possible that during exploitation that red dot dissapear.
Good luck
