eject the tape unit and try flipping it over - you could be trying to run the tape unit upside down or backwards. It could be your connector on the Roady2 as they wear out from contstant in and out all the time - a very frequent problem.
Check your copper pin cylinder on the back of the receiver that goes into the cradle. The metal cylinder surrounding the copper pin can shave off or crack, causing these problems. If you can put your hands on another unit, you can replace this area with the parts unit. Unscrew the two screws holding the unit together and then slowly pry the unit apart, inserting a very thin blade and moving it slowly around the frame. Once inside, you will see screws holding down the area with the copper pins. You can remove this and put it in your receiver.
I had the same problem with invalid channel on all channels ! Had to reset the siriuss receiver by removing power for 15 sec and restoring! that means not just shuting it off but removing all power to the sirius unit not the clarion unit itself and reastablishing power to it turning on the clarion head unit and walah! satelite would recieve ESN and 184 and programing! Hope it works for you after 3 long waiting periods on the phone!
You will need to get another sat antenna, and locate it somewhere either above the camper, or where the camper does not obstruct the antenna. Any store that sells sat radio equipment (Fry's, Best Buy, etc) will have the micro antenna. Install it either on the hood of the truck, or on top of the camper. You will need to run the antenna to the rear of the dash. They make Y couplers that will allow you to run both the OEM antenna and the extermal antenna at the same time, and it will not hurt the system to have both wired in at the same time.
The sirius unit does not have any channels in the unit. You need to refresh the radio (XM allows you to do it online, I dont know about sirius) and leave it powered on for about an hour for it to update the channel list.
I believe it's actually a firmware issue with the SIR-KEN1. I havethe same setup and have the same exact problem. I have to cycle thru my "SRC" button and get back to Sirius for it to work. Not a happy camper. I read on the Sirius Backstage forums about the firmware, although I have written Directed Electronics (SIR-KEN1 manufacturer) and never received a response.
Sorry I can't help. I'm having the same problem. Seems to be a common problem with these units. I posted the same problem. If you get an answer before me could you please forward it to me and I will do the same for you.
THANKS AND GOOD LUCK
