If the Monitor Lights change from GREEN to YELLOW then it cannot detect a signal from the Video Card. If you have a different monitor, hook it up and see if it makes a difference.
If it does get another monitor...
If it does not make a difference. Open the computer and see if the monitor cable plugs into the Motherboard directly or into a video card.
Which ever way it is try adding another video card.

You need to check what kind of video card you need, AGP, EPCI, etc...

If it has a video card in one of the slots, remove it, try another one in the same slot.
If it plugs directly into the Motherboard add a video card to the slot nearest the power supply.

*NOTE: any video card you try to install will work with your monitor without drivers,
If you install the card and turn it on you will see stuff on the screen without installing drivers.
When you install an operating system, ie: Windows, Linux, Unix, etc., then you will need
to Install drivers.

Tx2000 hp laptop not booting up, all lights are on green except amber light from wireless button

Do you get anything on the screen at boot? When you removed the HDD did you test it? It powers up, but will not boot correct? Fan spins, LED's Blink? Battery charges? Can you get to BIOS or Boot Menu? Can you do a Restore/Recovery? If you insert a repair disk into the DVD/CD rom drive does it respond? Take a look at HP support page: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001&lc=en&product=3658348

Dell demension 4600c power light ok, hard drive light not on

sounds like hard drive dead or your boot files corrupted and your hard drive has no input power. could be power unit weak or your hard drive could have died..they do wear out.
do you hear any fans spinning? there are fans to keep your pc cool. one big one for chasis and one small on over processor chip(heatsink). if the smaller fan(especially) does not spin then PC will not boot because chip will heat up and break if no fan. system will protect itself from this by not starting. open chasis and check if small fan is working. if not this is cheap fix. if it spins then hard drive or graphics card may be bad, which gets more expensive. shop will charge average of $75 dollars to analyze-just to tell you what is wrong, not to fix it.

E system 1212 Laptop won't switch on. Power

Laptops are so integrated that usually a system failure that involves power issues such as in your case where you cant get it turn on with anything on the screen mean the mainboard (motherboard) is damaged. This usually leads to buying a new laptop or paying for the board to be replaced which usually costs as much as the laptop.

Screen will not come on hard drive light no light checked power supply is ok

Things to check:
  1. Power led on the front of the tower, it should be solid green when on. Flashing Amber is generally an indication of a bad power supply inside the tower
  2. Power LED Solid AMBER indicates system is not finishing the power on self test (POST) and you remove all connections from the tower except power and try turning on again. If no change, remove all PCI and PCI-E cards from system, try again, no change replace motherboard.
  3. On the back of the tower are 4 diagnostic LEDs near the ps2 ports marked ABCD, after the POST, during a normal boot the will flash in several sequences and with boot is finished all 4 should be green. If they stop an a different pattern, then that indicates a failure Yellow Yellow Green Green indicate bad RAM for example
  4. If the LEDs on front and back are Green then the system appears to be booting but the monitor display is not functional

Dell dimension 5150 blinking amber lights

I have similar problem these days. After normal shutting down the PC, it can not be powered up again, the amber light blinks. A temp solution for my case is by doing these steps:

1. leave all monitor, network, keyboard and mouse etc. connected
2. disconnect the power, wait until green light and amber light dim.
3. pop up the CMOS battery, then put back in (better to check its remaining voltage, if not good, change a new one)
4. power amber light flash shorter and lighter
5. disconnect any USB connections like keyboard and mouse,
6. immediately connect keyboard and mouse back into USB ports
7. my pc powers up at this point, all green lights shining. Except it displays CMOS setup warnings, give me options to click either F1 or F2
8. I click F1, it goes into normal login XP

The only problem is I could not shutdown PC again, if I do, then I have to repeat 1-8. I have to use "Standby" instead, which I usually do.

Can't boot up Dell 5100 Dimension, amber light flashes

When you mean the amber light, is that the blinking hard drive access light or the power light? Different cases have different colors on it. Mine has blue and green lights.

If you see the boot screen (bios) and then after it goes to boot, does it blink and hang?

This could be a simple operating system issue, hard drive or hardware/motherboard issue. If you could provide more information, that would help.

Computer wont power up. Light stay amber and fan come on

Hi. No I think mobo is ok as you've got power to fan and lights. Are the drives kicking in? if yes then I think its your memory. Also if the drives are kicking in then your cpu is also ok. So that leaves the memory and graphics card. Good luck
