I need to know make model & serial number.
or
open the computer and look at the motherboard and it should say somewhere on it
what the motherboard manufacturer and model # is...

All drivers are very specific for each and every Motherboard.

Mabee the hard drive has failed . try entering bios and see if the hard drive is recognised .If not try turning the computer off unplug it then reconnect the drive data cable and power cable
then re- start the computer and see if it is recognised. some models of older hard drives needed a driver installed during set up -- you usually have to put the driver on a floppy disc and hit the f6 button when prompted by windows set up to install third party drivers . I hope this helps

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electic extensions or just replace them they are probably faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

Tech says i need new motherboard computer won´t turn on

Before you buy a new mother board, (the L300D-13S board is around $185 from China), remove your battery, leave it for about 5 minutes. Use only the Mains power supply and see if it will switch on.
Fit the battery, plug in the Mains Charger and see if the battery charge light comes on. If it does and it won't give you a screen or flash the hard drive light or power up the hard drive, then I am inclined to go along with a replacement Mother Board.
The laptop has to complete the POST and if it doesn't that usually points to Mother Board problems.
Were you trying to upload a newer version of the BIOS before it failed?
Good luck but check ebay and beware there are some really dodgy frauds out there.

Failed to unlock HDD System Locked

What you need to do is unplug pc, open up the door panel to your pc and remomo cell battery from mother board then find the jump pins on the mother board they look just like the one in back of the hard drive. The jump pins are connected with a jumper similar to the pins jumper that sets up your hard drive to master, cable select, or slave. You need to reset the mother board the way you do that is by removing that pin jumper and replacing the cell baterry then the pin jumper. If done correctly you will reset your motherboard password setting and bios allowing you to boot your operating system. If you need help google your pc manufacture and model number and search mother board jump pins. Or email me with your pc info to andreioneluv@yahoo.com , and I will try to help you find it. Where can I find a driver for my hitachi travelstar IC25N080ATMR04-0

1. You shouldn't need a driver for the hard drive
the Bios ( Basic Input/output system ).
2. You mother board should detect the driver
3. You will have to go into the BIOS setup to see of your hard drive is detect then set the BIOS to boot from the hard drive
4. If your pc takes SATA ( Serial advance technology attachment) then a IDE ( Intelligent drive electronics) will not work with the system without an adapter.
5. Your PC mother board instruction manual will have instruction on hard to access your BIOS settings
Caution: Any changes in the BIOS will not allow some devices attached to your PC to work properly is not properly addressed in the BIOS setup.

Need to replace mother board would i use one with 939 socket for amd and not reformat my hard drive

... and tell me, what is your question. The hard drive doesnt care what the mother board looks like with the following proviso ... you have a IDE drive not ... the new mother board must support it. You have a serial drive, the mother board myst support it.

As long as you can plug in the drive, the drive doesnt really care.
