Pleaseremove the Battery from the camera and give a look inside the batterycompartment. Use a spot light & make sure that place are clean , not rusted& the battery connector pin are not bend or broken. After that insert thefully charged battery and try to turn on. If its not turn on then its confirmthe camera internal power supply unit is faulty. For few reason this problemstarted.1. Theconnectivity cable from camera to Circuit board damaged or disconnected.OR2. Thepower supply transformer stop working & need to replacement.OR3. turnon button connection may disconnected.
After visual checking by the technician is possible to say which part isfaulty. For the confirmation you need to visit a camera repair store. With outvisual survey technician can't confirm you which one of them is faulty. Thankyou.
Do you mean change from landscape to portrait? This is referred to as "rotate". Your Nikon software should have this function in the view or edit menu. I don't know what other programs are on your computer but I'll bet another one can do the same thing.
The Camera displays lens error only when it's unable to retract or expand. This usually happens when the internal Hardware that controls the lens fails or any dust particle settles around the lens. In this case, just give slight bumps to the Camera against your palm. If the issue persists then service will be required.
Nikon has issued a service advisory on this model, but I am not very sure about the buttons not working properly. Hope you gotit repaired by Nikon's authorized service center. Please contact the nearest authorized service
The largest CompactFlash card that Nikon approved for the 5700 is 256MB, which is what I'm using in my 5700. That's small by today's standards and you probably won't even find it in stores. I see some web sellers have 256MB cards for only $6 or so. Other commercial card sellers on the web claim that the 5700 will handle CF cards up to 1GB capacity. That's what I might try since online they're selling for as little as $8 plus shipping. Given that the 5700 was introduced in 2002, any cards bigger than 1GB probably won't work.
Hi there all
My Nikon coolpix 5700 camera was the same way. We were told that there is a recall on this cameras because of this problem. Go to the website listed below and follow through with the directions. We sent ours in about 3-4 weeks ago and just got it back today in excellent working conditions again. I hope this helps, Good Luck!
This appears to be a well known CCD problem, which Nikon acknowledges only for the COOLPIX 3100, 5700 and SQ models.
Nikon denies the CCD problems on the 5400 are related, even though a Google search for this problem returns numerous results which claim the same defective Sony CCD sensor was used in the 5400 as was used in the 3100, 5700, and SQ models.
