Re: Connecting 2 routers (ASUS WL-500W and D-Link...
This will give you a "Double NAT" setup. Meaning, Your D-Link router is connected to the external internet address assigned to you by your internet service provider. More than likely this is a DHCP address you do not control. Your D-Link router is then translating the address to the 192.168.1.x network. This is the first NAT translation. You are then connecting the ASUS router to DLINK, causing a second NAT translation. (Internet ADSL --> D-Link WAN Port --> D-Link Lan Port --> ASUS WAN Port --> ASUS Lan Port to computer/server/etc. ) If both of your routers are giving out DHCP addresses, then this is all that is required.

For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1
If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it Still same then you need to reset router for access it with above default ip. For that press RESET button it is in back side of router press it for 10 seconds then try with above ip.. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Click on WAN settings and set those settings as your internet service provider settings. Enable DHCP if you want to get ip from router. Click
on wireless settings enable wireless then enable WEP Security then add
WEP code .It is your password to connect wi fi.Then save settings and
restart router. Then you can connect your wi fi network with that code. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
When you change the WPA encryption in the wireless router, you also need to configure the wireless card in the computer with these settings.
Please click in this link to secure your wireless network, configure the wireless router and the wireless card in the computer and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security
1,there is a reset button
2,press this using any pin with power
4,connect your router with pc
5,type 192.168.1.1 on the browser
password:admin12 or admin
1, connect your wireless router with cable to your laptop, 2. Login into your Asus-WL520gu and setup your wireless how you want it to run." do not bother with putting your username settings in there" 3. In your Asus-WL-520gu after setting up your wireless turn the DHCP off in it. 4. Now connect the cable that you have connected to your laptop to your router instead of your laptop. ""You should now be able to connect to the wireless with your settings. and connect anything ells you want to the other 4 ports on the back of you wireless router"" note: do not connect anything to the WAN port as it is used for DSL modems; and not Routers with ADSL modem. when connecting a router to a router - the one that is connecting you to the internet needs DHCP turned on because it is the one that will be giving you IPs and Gateway settings - the other router such as wireless router after setting it up needs its DHCP turned off - other wise you will have 2 routers trying to do the same thing with ip's and gateways. And you should never connect a modem router to the WAN port as it is a modem router and NOT just a DSL-modem. The WAN port is intended for DSL-modems only. Not only consumers but also many technicians make that mistake
Fixed it, remember to install the vista driver for your harddisk, then select the port of the ip to the wireless devide, then it should work, you can check in the wireless web setup that the printer is located, under System.
