If you have set an admin password, going into safe mode will do nothing if you forgot it. You will need to use a password recovery tool.
I would love to hear how these people think that the password can be reset in safe mode.

Safe Mode is a component of Windows that allows you to access your Window’s interface without having to load unnecessary drives and software. This component becomes useful if you are having much difficulties running your Windows version normally or if it has been corrupted by another program. In Safe Mode, only your basic drivers and programs will show up (enough to let you as least try to reconfigure the Windows errors that might have happened or remove virus that become active only when starting your PC normally.).
How to get into Safe Mode with Windows XP
It is easy to get into Safe Mode. It is done while you are switching on (booting) your computer.

  • 1. When the first screen will display the memory and hardware information about your PC, press the F8 key.
  • 2. Windows XP will by now list the various booting options for your system. With the keyboard arrows, choose to boot your system in ‘Safe Mode’.
  • How to get into Safe Mode with Windows XP Home edition
With a Windows XP Home edition, you should first logon to the Admin account by disabling the “Bypassing the Logon Screen”.

If you have “Bypassing the Logon Screen” turned on here's how to turn it off:

    To disable this function:
    • 1. Go to your start button, select “Command Prompt” from the “Accessories” list.
    • 2. Type in “control userpasswords2” and press “Enter”. This command will launch the Windows 2000 User Accounts application.
    • 3. Go to the “Users tab” and check the box labeled “Users Must Enter a User Name and Password to Use This Computer”, then click “Ok”.

You can now boot into Safe Mode by pressing the F8 key. The password for the Admin account should be left blank in Safe mode.
hope this helps .pls dont forget to rate as fixyaa thanks and Godbless

Reboot the computer. Press and hold the f8 button. Select safe mode from the menu. You should be able to see the admin login. Then you can make the changes.

I want to hack win xp admin password by guest their is error "access is denied" i hv try safe mode its no working

While you forgot windows os password, you can enter safe mode (F8 when booting up) to recover windows password while you forgot user account password, but when you forgot admin passwords, there's no way to change it, you should use utility to recover admin password. Last week, I forgot my Windows admin password. Last, I used Windows Password Seeker to remove the Windows password successfully. It's worth an attempt.

I forgot my password for my home computer. Is there away to unlock my computer? If so can you help?

Restart 1. Before the Windows Logo Screen press F8 and select "Safe Mode" 2. Log in as administrator (usually no password required for it) 3. Go to Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change an account -> Select your account -> Remove password. 4. Reboot and let normal startup 5. Set a new password once you log in.
Cheers!

Forgot password, window xp home edition, how to by pass

Here is a little trick to use that may or may not work:
Start the computer in safe mode and log on as administrator. It's surprising how many people set up their XP computers and password protect their profile, but forget to password protect the administrator account. Once in, you can change your password in your own account.

Forgot password, need to reset

You can reset any user password by logging in using the Administrator account through Safe Mode. In Windows XP Home you cannot log into the Administrator account in normal mode.
When your computer is starting up, hold down the F8 key. This will bring you to a black screen with white text. Use the arrow keys to highlight "Safe Mode" and then hit enter. This will boot the computer into Safe Mode, which will look normal except the resolution will be very low. Log in as the Administrator (should have a blank password). Once logged in, open the Control Panel, then User accounts, then reset the password or whatever user you want. Reboot the machine to get back into normal mode.

Locked out of a computer

If you can boot into safe mode,(which should still need a password,so I don't think it will work)
But if you can, just go into the control panel and create a new account with admin privileges, restart in to the new account and transfer all files from old account, then delete the old account.

Logon password

You can use a program like Windows Password Recovery Tool to get the admin password. It is a live cd easy to use.
When you load it in graphical mode select the windows installition and then select the user you want to reset password.
(make sure you boot from cd/dvd or usb first)
