Hi, first you can remove the disc from the drive with a small needle or something small that fits into the hole in the drive tray, it will eject the disc.

after the disc is out, restart the computer, turn the drive on and off, connect it to the computer with usb, turn the drive on, turn the computer on and see if it works, if it doesn't work try another usb connector.
if its still not working have a look into the device manager while its connected and turned on, right click my computer and select manage, then on the left side of the window select device manager now on the right side look for anything with a ! or ? mark on it, or a unknown device, turn the power off on the device and see if something dissapears, what dissapeared is the usb drive, power it back on and right click on it to see the status.

If the drive tray is jammed, and the tray cannot be ejected and cleared
manually, the drive should be replaced. Some drives have an emergency
    eject hole.

    If
for any reason the tray does not eject automatically, insert and press
an eject-bar inside the emergency eject hole to manually eject the
tray. A straightened paper clip with a diameter of 1.2 mm (typical) can
    be used as an eject-bar.

NOTE: Make sure to turn off the power before manual disc eject operation.

this may sound strange but what is the rom's you are trying to use them on as some rom's will not take 8x recording or R - or + and it will say there is no disk and ejecting the disc. and dvd disc only work with dvd drives designed for instant record. most models take data/dvd disc as it can be formated in both formats to record but dvd is just one setting that most dont have.

Need drivers for windows 7

no driver is needed; Windows OS provide automatic support that allows the drive to read a data or music disk. Other types of disks will require dvd decoding software and compatible burning software.

I want to transfer the data from 2 small folders on my Dell 8W007-A01 drive (Optiplex) to my Toshiba laptop. Who would do this for me (and what would it cost)? Thanks Chris

You can do this yourself
Insert the disk into a working computer's CD drive and copy the folders onto an USB flash drive, then insert the USB flash drive into your Toshiba and copy the folders off the USB flash drive onto your Toshiba.

When I Press Eject button the tray does not open. It is also taking too much time during booting.

Use a pin and insert in the emergency eject hole (usually in the center below the tray) and then you can eject the drive tray with force. It is time you planned for a new drive.

Untill then please insert a music CD into the drive tray and leave it there, this will ensure the eject will work (most of the time). Booting time will definitely increase if the drive has issues, reading or responding.

Source tray opens, however, none of the target trays open

In order to solve your problem, please answer the questions below:

1) Does the drive(s) light up when the unit is powered on?
2) Does the unit respond when the eject button on the front of the drive is pressed?
3) Does the drive burn during the copy process?

Admittedly, this can be a simple or complex problem. If you would like, please give us a call @ 877-686-8868 x208 for technical support. Thank you for your inquiry and thank you for purchasing EZ Dupe products.

It says my DVD is working properly but I cannot open the drive....I manually opened the drive and I can't close it without doing manually also. the light comes on but it is not responding.

check the dvd drive and see if there is any damaged on its plastics that may cause the issue. make sure the drive tray is not being stuck and nothing is preventing it from opening or closing. next, try to remove and reconnect its power and data cables. Using different cables if available may also help. if using the eject button works, but not through the OS, a possible reinstall of the driver, the firmware and even of the OS may be necessary. if all else fails, there is a chance that you may need to get a drive replacement.

LG GH22 is not working

The most common issues are cable related. If the eject button on the front works but the computer doesn't see the drive, check the data cable. Make sure the cable is fully seated at the motherboard and is correctly oriented and connected to the drive. (Check the orientation first; it is easy to get upside down.) Since this is an IDE drive, you may also have to check the jumpers are at cable select.

If the eject button doesn't work, then you don't have power. Try a different power connector.

If you have enough power to eject and see the drive, then check your drivers and software. (A failing power supply or one that just doesn't have enough power for your system under load are also possible issues for write problems.)
