Will not print from computer to prinjter

I get the message: remove and check the black cartridge.
I have done that and replaced to cartridge. It does not change the message. It faxes and copies but will not communicate.

Clean the metal sensor inside the printer carriage using cotton and isopropyl alcohol.

Unplug all connections.
uninstall the driver and reboot the pc.
after this install again the driver for your printer. put all connections and let the pc detect the printer.

This is because ur printer is not detecting ur cartridge..also u said its not working with new cartridges --that is because the copper points that detect ur cartrudge circuit has some dust accumulated and needs cleaning

    clean the copper point connections where u insert the cartridge if the points of cartridge and printer get connected properly it will detect ur cartridge and ur printer will run fine

    i will tell u how the solve ur communication problem with the printer---the procedure is as follows.:


    1)right
    click the my computer icon



    2)click
    properties and then click hardware n go to device manager.



    3)uninstall
    all usb ports and then scan for hardware changes



    4)ur
    pc will detect your printer and ask for printer drivers



    5)re
    load drivers and your pc will communicate with your printer



    6)for
    reloding install the cd follow the instructions on the screen and click next



    7)restart when the printer is loaded.connect the wires
    and cords properly

Check the cable connection from printer to computer .

Cable connection might be damaged.

You can print black pages with the color cartage. HOW ? just when you select the size of the paper A4 then ther is an option of colored printing or black if you have ink in the color cartage then it can be done that you can print black pages with that cartage

INkCartrige error 50c. Will not print. Display this note each time I try to make copy or print from computer.


Hi there

You should always mention the printer model as well as what operating system you use.

This is what i found on LEXMARK's website about your error, and it seems you have one or 2 faulty cartridges, or you are using compatible cartridges instead of Lexmark Originals:

Problem Error messages; Error: "Cartridge Error 50C"; Cartridge error; Black cartridge missing; Color cartridge missing Solution Cartridge Error 50C
Your print cartridge has shorted.

  1. Power off your All-in-One and unplug it.

  2. Plug in your All-in-One again and turn it on.

  3. Uninstall and then reinstall your cartridges.

  4. If this does not resolve the issue, try the troubleshooting steps for the other cartridge errors below.

Error: Black Cartridge Missing
The black cartridge is not installed. (Install cartridge PN 82)
Error: Color Cartridge Missing
The color cartridge is not installed (Install cartridge PN 83)
Cartridge Error
Complete the following instructions:

  1. Power off your All-in-One.

  2. Use both hands to lift up the scanner unit until the scanner support holds it open.

  3. Turn the All-in-One on. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.

  4. Remove the color print cartridge.

  5. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.

  6. If the error message reappears, replace the black print cartridge with a new print cartridge.
    If it does not repeat steps 1-3 and then go to step 7.

  7. Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black print cartridge.

  8. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.

  9. If the error message occurs again, replace the color cartridge.

  10. If an error message reappears, repeat steps 1-3 and reinstall both print cartridges.

  11. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.

  12. If you receive the error message again, replace both cartridges.

This means the the printer cannot determine which cartridge is causing the error. Make sure that you are using original HP cartridges.

Please see troubleshooting procedure below:
  1. Remove the color cartridge from the left stall (which has a blue latch) and refasten the latch. Leave the other cartridge in place.
  2. Close the printer, wait 10 to 15 seconds, then look at the LCD display.
    • If the LCD display reads Insert Color Cartridge in Left Stall , the color cartridge may be causing the problem. Follow the steps below:
      1. Clean the color cartridge contacts. Click here to see how.
      2. Reinsert the color cartridge into the carriage and close the blue latch.
      3. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      4. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the color cartridge.
    • If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , follow the steps below:
      1. Reinsert the color cartridge.
      2. Remove the black or photo cartridge, depending on which one is installed in the right stall. The right stall has the gray latch. Be sure to refasten the latch on the empty stall.
      3. Clean the black or photo cartridge contacts.
      4. Reinsert the black or photo cartridge.
      5. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      6. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the black or photo cartridge.

Many a times the cartridges get empty.There is ink in the cartridges,this ink gets over or many a times dried up.Remove the cartridges and see.There will be a steel color nozzle at the base of cartridge,from where the ink comes out.Touch the tissue paper to that base and see,if there is ink coming out.Actually the ink should come out.There will be two cartridges in the printer.One black and one tri-color.On black cartridge when you touch the tissue paper you will get black ink on tissue.On tri-color cartridge when you touch tissue on its base you will get three colors,that are yellow--- blue and pink.( In printer language its called cyan--- yellow---magenta color).If there is ink in the cartridge then it should print,If you have replace the cartridge,then on its base there is a blue color tape.That tape has to be removed from its base.If the tape is not removed the cartridge will not print.-------- One more thing.Before doing any thing.Just do a self test and see if the cartridges are working. The procedure of self test is as follows:--- " 1) Turn the printer on.2) The power on green light should be steady green,not blinking green. 3) When its steady green at that time.Press the cancel and color button both together. 4) By doing this the green light will flash,and printer will take the paper. 5) On that paper the self test will get printed.But if the printer takes the paper and it comes out empty /blank then its cartridge fault.But if the self test is getting printed,then yes its confirmed that there is communication fault between printer and computer.In this case,replace the usb wire.Try new brand usb wire and see if that is helping.One more thing.When you install the printer driver.At that time never keep the usb wire connected between printer and computer.Only keep one side of usb connected to computer tower.In between the installation procedure.The message will come up on your computer screen" this message reads,connect the usb wire to printer.At that time connect the usb wire".As you connect the usb wire the message will come up on your computer screen.The printer is detected.If this message comes up then only your printer will work.If this message does not comes then,there is any of the three things faulty,that is usb wire,the usb port on printer side or usb port on computer side.If usb wire is faulty you can replace this wire with new and check.Its not a costly wire.But if any of the ports are faulty,then this ports are internally soldered on the main board.This ports needs to be re-soldered.This can be done by any printer/computer repair tech.Its hardly a 10 minute job to re-solder loose usb port. ------------- Try this troubleshooting procedure.This will help. Psc750 alarm message: remove and check black cartridge.


There seems to be a problem with the cartridge. If it is printing normally, you can either live with the error, or replace the cartridge.

You can try cleaning the contacts with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol just in case.

Ink cartridge assembly not going to correct posy to replace black


Remove the cartridge and put it back in. If still it doesn't work, try to do head cleaning and nozzle checks consecutively from the computer.

Start -> Control Panel -> Printers & Faxes (Windows XP) / Printers (Windows Vista) -> Printer Icon (right click) -> Printing Preferences -> Maintenance

You should be able to see nozzle check, click it and follow the prompt. Line patterns that corresponds to the colors of the ink cartridges would be printed. If breaks on the black pattern or no black appears at all, continue with head cleaning. Try to do this about 3 times until all patterns are complete.

The following error message appears on the color graphics display after you insert a cartridge: Remove and Check Print Cartridges . The printer will not print. The message does not specify which cartridge has caused the error. Solution This error message indicates that the printer cannot determine which cartridge is causing the error.     Cartridge problems


    Clean the heads, printer is not reading new cartridge or refilled cartridge. You may also have a paper jam if alignment is affected. Check for little jams, post back if no go lilacgerry xxx

    Hp Officejet 7110 Not Printing From Computer

    The problem with the printer is it does not work, there are flashing lights and the message it gives you is to turn the power on and turn it back on. Needless to say when I reboot the system and unplug the printer and plug it back up, I get the same message, does anyone have any solutions to this problem????
