9 yr  Gas Neptune takes 1-2 hrs to dry clothes this month.  Repairman yesterday($190) replaced coil kit. The old set looked fine to me. He said the copper wire inside the coils was not good.....??   Is that true or scam?   We used last nite and much worse. We used dryer for 3 hrs and did not half dry. Its worse!  Were we ripped off? Should I have him put the old coils back in? What could it be?  Thanks Much!   Susan

My 2 yr old Maytag Neptune gas dryer mod # MDG9700AWW does not get hot. The gas is
on but the dryer does not light? Is their anything I should check before I call
for service? And if I must call for service who is reputable in the souther california area?
It's ironic that when I purchased the set I added insurance on the washer only thinking the
dryer would be pretty fail safe! HA..... This is the third time the dryer has failed on me yet
the washer is doing fine. Dont figure!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyhow Thanks for any help you can render?

A dryer that we had would not get hot to dry the clothes; I thought it was the heating element and so we replaced the dryer with a new one. The same thing happened with the new one and come to find out one of the legs for the 220 burnt out on the circuit breaker, so that there was only 110 volts; power to run the dryer but nothing for the heating element.

Problem with the Maytag Neptune MDG6700A Gas Dryer WHEN STARTED HEATS UP THEN NO HEAT AT ALL. MAYTAG MDG6700AWW

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

When the dryer heats for few minutes and then it won't work it means that the thermostat is bad and needs replacement. This part is located on the blower wheel housing inside the duct, you can also check this part for continuity before replacing. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

My maytag front load dryer turns on and runs,it does not blow any hot air

Hi,
Make sure front of dryer is not blocked, air flow is needed to dry.Check that the lint filter and exhaust duct is clean.

Check the blown fuses and home’s circuit breaker tripped. Dryer use 2 household Fuses or a circuit breakers, Replace the Fuses or reset the circuit breaker.

Another common cause of a dryer failing to heat is a faulty Heating Element. You will need to replace it.

Good Luck and have a nice day.

My dryer takes hours to dry one load of clothes. Cleaned all lint from it. It's warm, not hot. Flame is on.

you need to either dismantle the venting pipe ductwork inside the dryer and get inside the duct and loosen all dried on lint which is holding moisture in,otherwise the cycling switch for the flame is cutting out tooooo sooooon and your not drying the load properly per selected load setting

Dryer too hot...no cool down

no the thermal fuse has nothing to do with that, although it will open again if too hot and that may be why it opened in the first place.most high heat ,long dry times are the house ducting.try this experiment.remove your dryer from the house ducting and dry a load[it wont hurt a thing]if not as hot, then get that ducting cleaned.if still hot then make sure the inner dryer air ways are clean.your blower is spinning fine[not broken on the shaft]and also check with ohm meter,or visually that your heating element is not shorted to ground[then it by passes the cycling thermostat.if all those things good and still getting high heat i may replace the cycling thermo.but as a repairman i did not have to do that very often.most of the time it was the other possibles. i hope this helps abit God bless ,tom
