Hi There, Try This:

Right Click On My Computer (Or Computer For Vista)
Open Device Manager, click on the Plus for Universal Serial Bus Controllers and look for Unknown Device. Right Click on that and click uninstall. After you have done that, unplug it then reconnect it.
That should work.

Cheers

No, it will not be compatible. If you would like to play PS1/PS2, and eventually PS3 games, look into buying a original launch "Backwards Compatible" PS3. The model is CECHAO1. Good luck.

My PS3 does not play anything at all blue ray ps3 ps2 ps1 nada nothing and not music or normal vids so can anyone help me with thi sproblem i have

Hi, this is a very common problem with the PS3 and usually means the blu ray laser has become faulty. You can either give Sony a call and if it is under 1 year old they will replace it free of charge or you may have to pay around £130 for it to be repaired. You could try using a lens cleaner disc and see if that helps. Lastly you can have a look on ebay for a replacement drive. They usually sell for around £50 and are very easy to replace. If you google PS3 blu ray replacement you will find youtube guides on how to do it. You must however make sure you know the model of your PS3. It is on a white label on the back of the console and it starts CECH---. Next if you do replace the drive you will need to keep the circuit board that is screwed onto your drive as this is paired to the motherboard. If you do not swap the circuit boards the drive will never work. Have a look on youtube, the guides are pretty easy to follow.

Hope this helps

I just bought a ps1 off ebay, said working condition, and when i try to play a game, the screen says "insert disk" when theres on in there, ive tried the only 3 games i can find for a ps1, all a bit...

Try to send it back to the seller. The original Playstation (or PS1) is pretty old - like over 10 years old. That's a long time for a video game console to last; especially it it ever got used alot. I hope that you did not pay much for it. I personally wouldn't buy anything that old unless I had alot of PS1 games laying around that I loved to play. If you can't return your PS1 for a refund, then I would suggest buying a PS2; if you're not in the market for a PS3. There are tons of games out for the PS2 and they still occasionally make new games for the PS2. You can find new or used PS2 consoles at Game Stop, Walmart, Meijer, eBay, & etc.

PS3

Ps3 supports over 1000 ps1 and ps2 titles. Make sure you hook your ps3 up to the internet and download the latest firmware updates. Odds are your system will be able to play all or most of your ps2 games once you update the ps3 online.
