Step1Purchase the lamps that you need for the LCD TV. These lamps can be bought directly from the company that manufactures your television. Step2Turn off the TV and unplug it. Let it sit for at least half an hour before you replace the lamps. This gives it time to cool down. Step3Take off the lamp cover. Most of these covers can be removed with a screwdriver. Step4Remove the old lamp. Each TV is different, but most models allow you to simply pull the lamp out. Step5Slide the new lamp into the hole where the old lamp used to be. Once it is in place, you should hear a clicking sound. Step6Replace the lamp cover. Once the new lamp has been installed, you can screw on the cover again. Discard the old lamp carefully. Use the appropriate receptacle to dispose of it.

Dear Sir/Madam,

1 Turn off the TV, and unplug it. Make sure to disconnect it from the outlet completely. Step2 Locate the bulb door of the TV. This is often on the back, near the power cord. Slide the door open and reveal the bulb. Step3 Unscrew the screws. Some screws are thumbscrews, while others may require a screwdriver. Step4 Gently remove the bulb. Pull the bulb out of the compartment, usually by grasping a handle and then pulling out and slightly down. Step5 Install the new bulb. Line up the groove on top of the new bulb's housing with the groove pocket on the inside of the television. Slide the new one into place. Step6 Tighten the screws. Do not overtighten them; they should be finger-tight only. Step7 Close the door. Make sure it is closed completely or the TV will not operate.

thanks
good luck

All 3 lamps are located in the inside, back/bottom of the unit, green, red and blue, they just unscrew like normal light bulbs and are easy to replace, you cannot miss them

The basic steps to replacing a bulb are:

  • Unplug the electrical cord for the machine from the wall
  • Remove the cover
  • Unscrew the lamp housing unit
  • Remove the old lamp
  • Insert new lamp
  • Replace the lamp housing unit
  • Reinstall the cover

Where is the lamp ballast on a zenith z56dc1d. Thanks

Douglas, the ballast is what the lamp plugs into, pretty sure it's plug and play to change.

We have also had this problem before, you need to replace the color wheel. It is fairly simple to replace, just buy one and place it where the old one was.

I have a 1994 zenith big screen the picture is showing really dar

It could be that the picture tubes have gone down on emission, there is a prcedure that can be tried to bring up the overall brightness but it is just possible that you will loose some picture quality. If it's a 1994 projo tv i am thinking of the three crt system, a gray scale alignment would probably correct the dark condition in your picture, again depending on how far gone is the emission in your picture tubes, if your projo tv is the dlp system, the bad news is that you could be needing some light engine repair. The color adjustment is possible with the availability of a service manual or in the case of the dlp system, light engine repairs or replacement are available from some on line stores.

THE screen on my Zenith m52w56lcd tv is dim, has blue cloudiness and yellow spot in the middle. What is wrong?

    I
I have the same exact TV, with the same problem!
I found out that Zenith has a class action litigation open thru July 2010
Your Optic Light Engine is Defective and Zenith has to replace it for free
Or give you a new 50" Plasma or 44" LCD.
Here is the link with all the details ** http://www.zenithservice.com/index_b2c.jsp
Call the service center and let them know what your problem is and that you know
about the litigation. They will have a tech call you and troubleshoot it over the phone.
Then they will order the Light Engine and have a Tech come to your house and
replace it. It will cost you nothing!!!

    Convergence chips and resistors

In order to assist further, more information is required. You indicate that there are some discolored resistors on the board. There should be a marking on the board at each location like: Rxxx Where the xxx is a number. If you can post the numbers here for the parts that are discolored, I can look them up in the service manual for you.

    Thanks,
    Dan

I would suggest to remove the lamp from your TV and check it. You can also just buy the lamp without the other hardware.
This site seems to have good prices.
