Whirlpool gs6nbexr 01 icemaker water supply hose connector broken

The hard plastic connection at the valve end of the water supply hose for the ice maker in my side by side Whirlpool refridgerator broke off at the valve. How do find a replacement supply line, or will some hardware store carry a compression connector I can fit to the supply hose by removing the hard plastic end that is broken? That supply hose does not appear to be a standard size.

I have the same issue. The hose broke at the end where the water supply connects to it. Can I replace it the whole hose? Or is there another solution?

There are instructions available to repair this problem at www.AnyoneCanFixIt.com. They also sell the part needed to make the repair. Common problem on these refrigerators that were made in about 2005 or later and have the ice bin bucket on the door.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Side-by-Side Refrigerator No Water to Icemaker or Door

If you don't get water at the valve and it has power it is likely clogged. Take it apart and find most likely a part where the rubber has softened and clogged a hole that is supposed to open up when the valve is triggered. On mine it was at the bottom of a little metal pole that the rubber was bad. Clear the clogged hole and replace the bad seal and you should now have water.

Which water line or lines do I connect to refrigerator, model # ED22RFXW01, man. 08/99

It's advisable to go with flexible plastic tube with sweet water supply. Please follow the instrction as per video attached.

Even if your refrigerator comes withan automatic icemaker, you will need to connect it to a water supply for it tomake ice. While this is not a particularly difficult job it requires someknowledge of plumbing and the use of tools. ThingsYou'll Need:
  • Compression Nuts
  • Knife Or Scissors
  • T-valves
  • 1/4-inch Copper Or Plastic Tubes
  • Drill Bits
  • Variable-speed Drills
  • Drill Bits
Read theinstruction manual that came with your refrigerator. Specific instructions forhooking up the icemaker may be included. Locate thepipe nearest the icemaker that carries cold water. Most often, this is the coldwater pipe that connects to the kitchen sink. Install at-valve in the main cold water line - not on the 3/8-inch faucet tubes - sothat there are two outlets: one to the sink and one to the icemaker supplyline. Turn offthe water. Put asleeve and compression nut over the line that will supply the icemaker in orderto tightly connect it to the water line. Turn thewater back on, and, holding the end of the tubing in the sink or over a bucket, flush the line to remove any debris. Turn the water off again. Snake theline from the water source to the icemaker connection, drilling holes in thebacks of cabinets if you have to in order to push the line through. Find theicemaker inlet from the refrigerator and attach the other end of the line usinganother compression nut. Turn thewater back on. Throw awaythe first few containers of ice to be sure the line is completely clean beforeyou use the ice.

Wont make ice and frozen water running down door

Your inlet tube that goes to the icemaker may be frozen. To Check: Shut off water supply to Fridge, disconnect the water line that goes to the icemaker at top back. Use a flexible item to insert in the water line connection. I used a zip tie. If the flexible item won't all the through to the ice maker, the line is frozen. Thaw out the tube from inside the freezer with a hair dryer. Re-connect everything, you now have ice . . . Solution #2: You may have to replace your "Water Inlet Valve" located at bottom right rear of Fridge. Easy to do, just follow the color codes, be sure and shut off the water.

Ice tray dont empty and water keeps running out

Something caught inside the water valve (replace water valve ) such as dirt , sand . Or , the icemaker died in the fill position . Disconnect the icemaker plug inside the freezer , and see if water still runs from the icemaker fill tube . Also make sure the icemaker fill cup on the icemaker , is not clogged with ice .

Why is the ice maker not droping ice / Mod. ET1FTTXKQ00 / Type C21TFA01 Whirlpool 08-01

Take a 4 inch piece of 14 gauge insulated wire and strip 1 inch of insulation off each end. Bend the wire into a U shape.Remove the plastic cover from the front of the icemaker. Insert the bare ends into the terminals marked T and H on the face of the icemaker. The wheel should move and dispense the ice into the bucket. If it does not move and drop the ice replace the icemaker.

Ice maker is not filling w water. water does come

The ice maker likely needs replaced however it could also be the fill valve. If you have the ability to locate the valve at the end of the fill hose (usually bottom right when looking at the back of the fridge) it will have 2 solonoids with electical connectors on them. Swap the connectors and press the water dispenser paddle. This should fill the icemaker. If it does, the valve is fine and the icemaker is bad.

I am getting no water to go into my ice maker , eveything else works fine , just no water???

Check fill tube that goes to the icemaker in the back. It may be filled will ice or the water valve may not be sending water to the icemaker. S xS have a dual valve, one goes to the icemaker, the other to the door. This is why one may work but the other doesnt. Replace the water valve on the back of the icemaker.
