Try the following: Open the Control Panel, then 'Printers and faxes,' highlight and delete the printer and if also shown as a fax machine, delete that occurrence too. Then with the printer on, reboot your system and force Windows to reinstall a driver or give it the original installation disk when it is requested.

Printer claims ink cartridge is expired and won't let me print

Hello, if you change the date on your computer to 3 months previous (say), then reboot, you can probably overcome this temporarily. Obviously, for normal operation it's best to restore the date to current, and only set the date back when you want to print something.Regards,nicam49

I assume that you attached the two-sided printing accessory (duplexer) to your product:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01909142&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en#N428

The duplexing has to be set in the printer's
Printing submenu

DUPLEX OFF/ON

This item appears only when an optional duplexer is installed. Set

the value to ON to print on both sides (duplex) or OFF to print on

one side (simplex) of a sheet of paper.
The default setting is OFF.

Print on both sides (Duplex) Click Print on both sides. If you will bind the document along
the top edge, click Flip pages up.

Printer won't print. I went to printer and it says there are 9 items to br pringted in queue but they won't print Printer says it is ready

Good Day Nanawhit!

That happens all the times when first print job encounter a problem and stops printing and it was followed by series of print jobs. Some reasons for stop printing could be a printer out of paper and printer not set as default printer.

The best way to fix it is to cancel all pending jobs. When print jobs window is cleared off pending print jobs, restart your PC and your printer. Then go to your printer and make sure it is the default printer.

After that try printing a test page. Once a test page is successful, you can now print as many as you want.

My HP Officejet 6500 Wireless printer won't print in black when trying to print from Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft Office Excel or PDF. The ink cartridge is new. I have turned the printer off and...

I also have the OfficeJet 6500 and had the same problem. The black text was printing using a mix of colored inks instead of the black ink, resulting in a grey, fuzzy text. I finally found a solution. In each application under Page Setup, there is an option called "Format for". Mine had been set to "Any Printer". I changed that to "Officejet 6500 E709n [830E4A]" and now it prints the black just fine. I have a Mac running 10.4.11. Hope this helps.

I have a HPC7280 all in one. it is asking to insert a memory card for copies. why? how do i get around that.

It sounds to me like you have selected an option to print directly from a memory card at one time. Here are excerpts from the user manual for your machine to change printer settings:

Change the print settings

You can customize the print settings of the HP All-in-One to handle nearly any print

task.

Windows users

Before you change print settings, you should decide if you want to change the settings

for the current print job only, or if you want to make the settings the defaults for all

future print jobs. How you display print settings depends on whether or not you want

to apply the change to all future print jobs or just to the current print job.

To change the print settings for all future jobs

1. In the HP Director, click Settings, point to Print Settings, and then click Printer

Settings.

2. Make changes to the print settings, and click OK.

To change the print settings for the current job

1. On the File menu in your software application, click Print.

2. Make sure the HP All-in-One is the selected printer.

3. Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box.

Depending on your software application, this button might be called Properties,

Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences.

4. Make changes to the print settings, and click OK.

5. Click Print or OK in the Print dialog box to print the job.

I believe that this should help you get around your issue. Here is a link to the entire user manual for future reference.

The printer works but skips labels sometimes and causes some labels to be printing on two different labels instead of one. How can I fix this?

make sure the printer is calibrated. It should feed 1 label only. If it does not default it to force a calibration. hold pause and feed while off then turn on, count to 6 and release the buttons. You also need to set label height and width in the printer driver. Both zebra designer and zebra universial. goto printers and faxes and right click on your printer driver chose properties, this opens up on the general tab.

Configuration changes for current job and Default Configuration changes
There are two places in the driver configuration to change print configuration. In Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP, go to the "General" tab and click the "Printing Preferences..." button. This menu of configuration parameters are the settings that are in effect for the current print job. Any changes made here will only affect the current, or next, print job. These settings are initialized for each print job from the configuration defaults.
Go to the "Advanced" tab and click the "Printing Defaults..." button. The displayed configuration menu describes the default settings for the driver. These settings are used to set the initial "Printing Preferences..." for new print jobs. It is a convenient place to set parameters that seldom change in you environment. Commonly set default parameters include Printer firmware, Media Settings, Device Options, and Page Size.
On Windows NT, these menus are available when you right click on the printer name in the Printers folder. The pop-up menu contains selections for "Printer Settings" and "Default Settings" which take you to these screens in the driver.
