Time to bring it into a computer shop and have them replace the keyboard for you. It should be relatively inexpensive because it's not that difficult for them to do. Just get an estimate on labor for 30 minutes, and how much the keyboard will cost.

SOURCE: dell laptop key for left click (enter) is almost useless,

You could try to remove it. Clean it up. Look for the rubber part on the keyboard not to be broken. If nothing works go to a service. But know that laptop keyboards are not cheap :P

Function keys

Enter BIOS by pressing F2 or DEL or F10 (try all), and see if there is a Function key option. Change it, save and exit. If everything else is working fine, you can also try to push and hold Fn key and then press a function key.

Laptop won't dock

The inspiron 600M will not function in a D-Dock, but will work in a D-Series port Replicator. (Although the D600 and 600M share the same motherboard, the bottom plastics are different)

After trying the 600M in the D-Dock, it is possible the dock is damaged. I would undock the D630, then delete the docked profile. power off, dock, and reboot and see if it detects and works.
