No boot from USB pendrive - matsonic MS8137c

Hi all!
I'v got the Matsonic ms8137c motherboard, and I would like to use it as a file server with FreeNAS. It would be a nice thing if I can do a boot from a pendrive, and leave all the available disk space for my personal data.
I've enabled all the USB possibilities in the BIOS, when it boots it recognize the attached pendrive (already bootable), but at the end it says "Boot disk failure".
I tried all the USB ports and 2 different pendrives.
Is it possible to have a boot from an USB pendrive, somehow?
Thank you very much for your help.

    Hi,
as I said, I checked all the possibilities in the BIOS, included the order of the boot and the devices. USB-HDD is the first, then USB-FDD and USB-ZIP. I tried also with USB-CDROM. Unfortunately nothing changed.
Also, the pen drive is bootable, I tried in another PC where the USB boot is possible, since I have copied the files needed to boot it, and it works.
It's just that the mother board seams not to recognize the USB bootable pen drive, although it recognizes that there is a pen drive attached and the pen drive is bootable itself.

Thanks for your trying, but I'm still without solution. :(

Maximum cpu speed for a matsonic ms8137c?

The Matsonic MS8137C uses the VIA KT266A chipset thus you'll be limited to a processor with a 100~133Mhz side bus frequency (FSB) alternatively referred to as a 266FSB chip.

The Athlon XP3000 uses a 166 dual FSB (alternatively refered to 333FSB) so even if you could get it to run it wouldn't be able to stretch it's legs being limited to the chipset's maximum FSB Vs. CPU multiplier.

Presuming your motherboard will support it (and I imagine it would), the maximum CPU you'll be able to run at full spec is a Thoroughbred 2600+ AXDA2600DKV3C (there is also a D prefix chip that uses 166Mhz FSB you don't want this one).

Early AMD Athlon processor specifications can be found HERE

Additionally you may need to also update your motherboard's BIOS version to take full advantage of any revisions (and subsequnet CPU support enhancements)
