Problem for Mitsubishi WS-55513 55 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television
Mitsubishi ws-55513 HELP!!!
picture and sound shuts off in 5-30 seconds. The power stays on. When you turn it off and back on it does the same thing will work for about 5-30 secounds then shuts the picture and sound off and the screen goes black some days it will word for a half hour orr so then shut down. tried the reset and poking around inside for a lose connection also unpluging for 6 hours nothings working. It also makes a humming nose when the picture goes out?

it sounds like your power transformer may be bad. something you will have to have a shop repair

Same thing happened to me.On the signal board there is 4 surface mount transistors. There is oneright by the input board (BA09), i would check the corresponding capsand diodes
close to it also. I would replace all of the 4 transistors.If this SMT starts to go you will see wavy lines in your picture thanit will go away in 3 min or so and get worse over time until no pictureis seen. When it totally fails you will have no inputs what soever butyou will have an OSD screen and when you choose DTV you will get ascrolling picture.
