Question about Acer PC Desktops

1 Answer

The wires connecting my graphics card to the mother board for speakers have come off the board and i dont know where they go. I have an Acer aspire mpasm3641 with an nvidia geforce9500gs card. On the end of the wires one says GND and the other SPDIF. I can see a set of pins on the board in the area they came from but i have 2 wires and there are 3 pins plus if there were only 2 pins I still wouldnt know which one they would go on. Thanks

I don't think your two wires came off your video card. Look at your sound card and see if there is a place that has two pins in the middle of a plastic thing where your plug goes in. Actually it is made to fit the plug on the end of your wire.

Video card acer am1100-b1410a

Since most modern motherboards with on-board graphics are designed to switch automatically to a PCI / PCIE add-on card, you have already sort of answered your question. In many of theses situations, if the motherboard's on-board video has failed and it has not provided you any indication that it knows the video has failed (POST codes), then it will most likely not know that you have installed the add-on card and make the switch.

Monitor says no signal..even installed a board mount new graphics card, and tried other monitors

Remove the new graphics card and use the onboard VGA output from the mother board. Make sure the cable is mounted all the way in - sometimes the connection is loose.

Power light on and beeping and no picture acer aspire t180

If your computer beeps when you turn it on you have a problem with your power supply, system board, graphics/video card or keyboard.
Reboot your system with out the keyboard if it no longer beeps your problem is a couple of stuck keys on the keyboard.
If the beeping continues remove your graphics card and reboot your system.
If your pc still beeps the it is either your power supply or the system board.

Wires off graphics card into mother board?

The computer won't boot if there is no graphic present. If you did hook it up right and there is a fan on the graphics card, it should be turning.

Upgrading graphics card

Connect the monitor to the onboard video connector first. then
you need to disable the on-board graphics in the BIOS save the setting and shutdown. Then connect the monitor to the GeForce video connector and boot up then you will get a video signal on the GeForce video card.

Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 5920G. My problem is when the laptop is switched on it sounds like it's booting but the screen stays blank? Have you any idea what can cause this? Regards, Dan Pook...

Hello
I think your graphics card or screen is broken on your Acer Aspire 5920G, one thing you can test is to connect at external monitor to your laptop. If you dont get any picture then its your graphic card broken, if you get picture it is your screen. also try to adjust the screen light.

New Acer Aspire E700 does not load-up

Does your BIOS POST runs then you might be having a Disk Booting Problem, If you dont see your BIOS POST Screen, then check if you can hear any beep sounds, If you hear beep sounds check the ram whether it is properly inserted in the ram slot or the ram might be faulty.(You may have to change the Ram). If you dont hear any beep, check whether the buzzer(Speaker in the CPU) is working, If buzzers were working fine before, then you might be having problems with your mother board or processor. If you know how to work on such problem try reinstalling the processor, ram etc in the cpu . Otherwise call a service engineer to have the job done.
