Re: problem with sonic record now
You have to format the cd to prep it for burning. Go to your operating system's help and support and look for formatting a cd and follow the steps to do so prior to burning pictures. then you just drag and drop your pics onto your cd drive.

The two main types of software needed to operate CD-R and CD-R/RW recorders, namely packet writing software and CD recording software (sometimes called premastering software), are available for most major operating systems. The majority of CD-R and CD-R/RW recorders include either one or both types as part of their purchase bundles. Be aware, however, that software from competing publishers may offer a different range of features. In addition, some current operating systems and standalone application software have built-in CD-R and CD-RW recording capabilities.
Nero, Roxio and Sonic have the capabilites to write to CDRWs.
hi, toshiba computers commonly used tool is called burnt record now, it works properly, that you get at the start + all programs + sonic + record now, try using this tool, if the fault persists, you should have problems with your unit cd-dvd
What is the software for?
If you want to record CDs and DVDs then you need Nero or Sonic record now.
windowsXP has a built in CD recording program butnot for DVDs
Windows Vista can record CDs and DVDs but neither operating systems program can copy CDs.
You need to check that with blank DVD's you are using compatible with your drive.Because the DVD's may work with your extranal drive but not with your builting drive. If this doen't slove the problem I would recommend using a different burning software other than "sonic record now" and "vista o/s Built-in dvd burner".
