Placing date/time on the photo

I have done everything step by step as described on pages 22 and 54, but the ”date/time“ option (last on the menu list) is never active and it is not possible to reach it and set this option.

Oddly enough Canon thought that people would only want date stamps on "Postcards". The date stamp options is only allowed when you select the "Postcard" size (1600X1200) in the function menu.

I hope this helps!

Tip

With the advent of the Megapixel camera , our photo's that we take are getting bigger and bigger. This is all good to have a nice and big resolution picture , but the trouble comes in when you try to e-mail a 4Mb picture on a limited internet connection.

There is lots of software out there that can re-size a picture or photo , but I prefer and recommend Pixresizer because its free and really easy to use.

Download Pixresizer HERE

Once downloaded , unzip the program and install it to your computer. If you do not have software to unzip it , please download winrar HERE.

Now open the program.

You have a choice of converting multiple files or a single file at a time.I'll be demonstrating how to convert a few files at the same time. The concept is the same for converting a single file.

Click on the "work with multiple files" tab.

  1. Select the folder where the photo's which you want to resize are located .
  2. Select the folder where the resized files are saved.
  3. Move the size dragging scale to select desired size.
  4. Select the output format (Jpeg is fine)
  5. Finally Save Pictures.

And that's all. I now converted 7.8Mb of photo's to only 200Kb which is a much more appropriate size for sending in a e-mail.

Please remember to rate this tip if your find it helpful.

Can I have just the date on the photo

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print some of this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

How do I date stamp photos?

photos are our archives of memories but sometime we do forget the taken date of an image. Sometime we feel a need of exact date and time the image was taken. The available meta data of an image not always give us good result and we need to be somewhat techie to understand that. So, to keep thing simple it will be great idea to put a date-time stamp on it.

photo date-stamp helps you here. It allows you to put date-time stamp in an image as well as a batch of images. You can choose color, font and font size to style the time stamp. It also allows you to chose the stamp position such as Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left and Bottom Right.....

thanks.

My Canon digital camera puts the date and time on the photo, but when I sent away for prints (used Kodak.com) the prints were just stamped with the day the print was made, not the date the photo was taken....

When you download the pics to your computer and view them, is the date and time on the pics then? If not, then your camera is not including the info on the pic itself.

Need some1 2 explaint to me how I get the d&t printed on the photo for a canon powershot 1S camera please

you can Print the date and time to the picture when you take the print of it. It does not embed the date and time data into the image itself.

From the manual please read this
" Setting the date and time settings does not cause the date/time stamp to appear on images"

To print with date
This option will be available only for printing on card size paper

In the print order screen, select [Style] and press the SET button

You will get 3 options to set
1) Image
a) Standard b) multiple
2) Borders
a) Borderless b) Bordered
3) Date
a) On ( Adds the date to the print )
b) Off ( Prints without the date )

Select Date option as On and the date will be printed on the picture.

still you are having any doubts, please refer to user manual and Direct Print User Guide
which i am giving as links here.

Hope this helps you

I just had this same problem. Check the canon web site, search for you camera and look for the CCD Image Sensor Advisory. They are aware of this problem and will fix it for free. Just call the customer service number.
