Try this
Download Microsoft UAA drivers for your O/S
Uninstall any sound drivers partly install through device manager.
Install UAA drivers and reboot
Then install or update your sound drivers through device manager
will go on net to find and install them
Doing this works 90% of the time

Did you restore with a factory restore disk or did you just install a copy of windows? the reason i'm asking is because if you're running a proprietary system i.e. Compaq, Dell, IBM etc. you need a factory restore disk to restore the system back to the way it arrived to you from the manufacturer or you will other wise have to find out what hardware your system has at the manufacturers web site or by phone and manually download and install the drivers.

Sound driver not avalebel

Sound drivers are required to make the sound card in your computer work, thus allowing your computer to output sound. You must have the correct sound drivers software that corresponds with your computer, model of sound card and operating system in order to get sound. Sometimes when your computer has had an update, you may need to download your drivers again. Sound drivers are available on the Internet to download and install for free. 1. Find the model of your sound card and identify what operating system you are using, as well as the model or serial number of your computer.
To find your sound card model, go to the Start menu, open the Control Panel, locate and open the Device Manager. Near the bottom is an option called "Sound, video and game controllers." Double click to open the sub-menu. There you will find the type of sound card you have.
To find your operating system, right click on My Computer on your desktop. Click "Properties." The name of the operating system should be listed at the top.
To find your computer model, it will vary from PC to PC. For laptops, check underneath for a label. For desktops, check on the top or left side of the tower.
2. Open an Internet browser and navigate to the website of either the manufacturer of your sound card or the brand of your computer. Most computer brand websites, if not all, supply drivers you can download from their support and downloads section. For example, if you have a Gateway computer, go to www.gateway.com. Find "Support," then "Drivers & Downloads." Fill out the required fields to search for the driver.
3. Look for the driver that corresponds with your sound card model, computer model and operating system. Click the link to begin the download. When it asks if you want to save the file, click to save to the desktop. After the download is finished, double-click the file and follow the on-screen instructions to install your sound driver.
I hope you find it very helpful.

VAIO VGN CR120E: I'm having audio trouble. Beep sounds at startup but I don't get any sound afterwards. Mute is off, I've restarted Windows Audio service, and I've reinstalled my sound drivers. Still no...

Hi ivelasco_iv,

Audio in this Computer Model may not work properly after installing Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1). It is required to install the BIOS Update version R0231Q0 in the Computer to fix this issue.

You can download the BIOS Update from the below link.

ftp://download.sony.com/US/pc/PHBSYS-16124100-US.EXE

IMPORTANT: Before installing the BIOS Update, please make sure that the Computer is connected to AC Power. During the installation of this update, please do not turn off the Computer, do not allow the Computer to enter standby or Hibernation states, do not start other programs and do not connect any peripherals.

Please download and save the file to the Computer, after that please open the folder where the file was download and double click the file to begin the installation. Please follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation. After the installation the Computer will restart automatically.

Installing this BIOS Update should fix the Audio issue in the Computer.

Good Luck!

Hope this helps.

Please post back if you require further assistance.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Dell Inspiron E1505 no sound in web browser

I must tell you that this is not an issue with the drivers or the web browser or the computer. This could be possible that volume button on the video while on web browser is mute or lowered....

Please check.....

However you can try to watch the same video online on other computer, just to isolate the issue....

No dvd reader and no sound

Sure can. Drivers are here:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=22&l=en&s=dfh&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INSPIRON%20B120&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

Download and burn to a CD or copy to USB, then copy to your notebook. I keep a driver folder on my systems with the last drivers I used, never know when they'll come in handy.

SOUND DRIVER NOT AVAILABLE

Go to your computer manufacturer's website and go to the driver/software download page according to your computer's make/ model number. Download and install the audio drivers. If this does not work, make sure that you have your speakers set to default, making them the things that you are wanting the sound to play out of. You can access this and set the default by going to your control panel, then to your speaker settings, then to your playback. There, you can select default, and then maybe restart your computer...Once restared and rebooted, then chck and see if you are getting sound.
