Question about Sony TC-WE475 Single Cassette Deck

Sony Audio Head Part #??

Hi,
Have a Sony TC-WE475 double cassette player. Side 'A' audio head has broken off its plastic mounts.....this is the side with pitch control. The whole Side 'A' cassette assembly I believe is 'A-2100-941-A' (this is the # on the motor) but I'm only interested in the broken audio head assembly which is attached to a PCB labled 'TF-03'. I don't have a service manual but wondering if anyone knows the Sony replacement part # for only this audio head assembly?? Any info would be appreciated.

Thank-you
Chad

Sony TC-WR690 doors will not open to remove the cassette.

If you remove the cover after unplugging the AC, you will see that when you push the eject button that on the back side the putton is held back by a white plastic piece. Push down the white plastic piece as you press the eject button. The door will open and the tape will release. I jsut did this today on my Sony TC WR 670 dual tape player. Both sides were blocked. I noticed that both fuses on the board were also blown. New fuses didn't solve the problem. May be that the transformer is out?

In both tape decks music only plays in one channel. How can I fix this?

This can be due to one of the following reasons.:

1.The head can be dirty, use a head cleaner to wipe off dirt from the head.
2. The connections to the head could have come off. check on the head connection.
3. The head can be faulty.
4. The preamp or the power amplifier of one channel can be faulty. you need to use a signal check to find and confirm.

Sony TC-WE475 problem when taping A to B, B is not recording. Heads turn but no sound.

Hey there,
Next time you have a few minutes, open the B side of the tape deck and look at the actual tape head- if it is dirty, you can clean it using cotton swabs and 80% isopropyl alcohol. (Higher than 80% is actually better, because it has less water in it)
Let me know if this helps your problem,
HortonA!
