Question about HP LaserJet 4si Printer
Even with new pickup rollers. Have three, all have developed the same problem. Reports an internal jam because it doesn't sense the paper. Will pick 5-10 pages just fine, then one will be off a little but not enough to stop the printer. Next 3 or 4 might be fine. At some point a page will be at least a half inch off and the printer will stop. Once the problem starts, the it might occur every 3 or 4 pages.
Acts like a switch or sensor is bad. Or maybe something wrong on a controller board which tells the printer when to pick the paper?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: My HP LaserJet 2430dtn Paper jam
Try this, make a print from the by-pass tray, does it go OK or jam??
If it jams then there is a problem with the paper feed from the tray.
If it jams then
1-check the drum and see if there is an image on it( you can put a mark on the edge to see if it's rotating, thus eliminating the drum unit)
2-same for the reg roller
3-check for labels ar foreign objects

SOURCE: HP P3005DN Tray 2 pickup
This is a problem with the Pickup roller.
Try to inspect the paper pickup roller, on the right side of the roller you can find a small notch which gets coupled with the shaft it will be broken. You have to replace the roller.
