What you can physically fit and the space available is not the same thing, Crucial is an excellent site but it might say that you have the capacity to fit x megs but whether you have the empty slots is different (see the last paragraph), and you will not really know untill you open the case and look.

The actual fitting is simple enough if you can reach the slots without dismantling the whole machine!

Supposing you can clearly see and reach the slots, with the machine off, and the power cord removed - yes removed! Gently press on the white clips at either end of the fitted memory it will pop up, lift it out without touching the gold terminals, notice the slot in the bottom edge.
Now, and without altering the orientation, place it back in the slot lining up the slot to the peg in the receiver. Now with a little pressure you can clip the memory module back in the slot and the tags will pop back into the locked position.
Okay you have done it, its as easy as that. So when the new stuff arrives you will know how to fit the new modules.

Your new modules could have twice the value of the old ones, so if your board can handle say 1 GIG of memory in two slots, thats a max of 512 megs in each, you might have 2 x 256 megs fitted and there are no empty slots, so pop out the 2 x 256 and drop in the 2 x 512 making an upgrade of ½ a Gig (in each slot) giving a total of 1 Gig.
The probability is that there are four slots, two of which might be empty, its the combination making up the total that determines how much extra you can fit....
I hope thats clear??

Will 1gb pc2700 ddr sdram work on my asrock k7vt4a pro

http://www.asrock.com/MB/overview.asp?Model=K7VT4A%20PRO

Yes, BUT;

Make sure it is,
1) Non-ECC

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECC_memory

2) Unbuffered (Non registered)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unbuffered_memory

3) Voltage is 2.5 Volts (DC)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR_SDRAM

(Standard set by JEDEC. Also the default voltage, AsRock has set for DDR Sdram ram memory, for that motherboard)

If you are buying from a seller who doesn't know the simple answers above, about ram memory they are selling, suggest do not buy from them.

On the AsRock Support page I linked above, go to the subheading that is in gray, to the left side -> Overview and Specifications.
Drop down to Manual, and click on it.

User Manual / English. Click on -> Click Here <- under the country name that is nearest yours.
This is a PDF file. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.

After you click on Click Here, it may take up to 30 seconds, before the first page comes up.
(Took 10 with a DSL medium speed connection, just now)

A im trying to start a pc but my monitor is not startin.Asrock K7VT4A-Pro Motherboard . led red is on and my grafic card is ok

Hi, you can download a manual here:

http://asrock.com/mb/manual.asp?Model=K7VT4A PRO

Here you also find drivers.

You may have to unzip the file before installation.
Do you use the right type of ram ??
The ram module could have a defect.
Have you insertet the cpu properly ??
You can maybe try with another AGP graphic card.
Or the card is not insertet in the slot properly.

Remove the graphic card and try to clean the contact points
on the card with a piece of paper.
I guess its just a bad connection or the card is defect.

You can read all about that red led in the manual.
