Question about Polaroid TTM-2401 TV
I'm experiancing interferance after the tv is warmed up 10 min or so. tried new cable.. new outlets power surges.. its the only tv in house this does it to. turned off router. Its like someone running a microwave. I bought in Jan and didn't mess w/ it till now. Its unwatchable when this happens. I unhooked cable and ran game system through it and did the same thing. I read bad reviews on this tv. Ive tried buying rhi chokes still now help. Any other ideas?
What is happening on this set, like others (not necessarily this make and model), is sometimes there are decoupler capacitors in the power supply and the secondary voltage supply from the flyback area that start to go opened in value. This allows some high frequency ripple to get back in to the video processing and CRT drive circuits. You will visualy see this as waves or interference in the picture no matter what you do. The solution is to have the set properly serviced.
You will not be able to fix this set yourself. Proper troubleshooting is required to find and replace the defective parts. There are high voltages in many of the areas where this fault can be occuring. I would suggest to take the set to an experienced service tech to properly fix the fault. Most of the cost will be the labour to do the work.
Considering that this is not a high quality set, you are probably better off to get a new set. I would suggest to stay with the big brand names. You will pay more, but you will get better value and performance for the money spent.
