Dryer trips the fuse box

I have a Zanussi condenser tumble dryer that is in working order except for one problem... within a few seconds of switching it on, it trips the main plug switch in the main fuse box. It happens every time. Ive replaced the 13amp fuse and the problem still occurs. Is there anyway to fix this without taking it in for repair?

Zanussi TC485W condenser tumble drier trips fuse when switched on

I had the same problem when I moved into my new house and upgraded the dryer. Its most likely the ground wire. Best to get a multimeter and test everything. If your not able to do that. You should call an electrician and have him check the wiring. Where he may need to run a new ground to your fuse box.
thanks,
Nathan

White Knight condenser dryer trips the electirc

Hi i bought my dryer 4 years ago and within three months i had a technician to it3 three times, it had the same problem as yours all my fuses were tripping in the fuse box. eventually after 4 visits, the technician said there was a tiny hole in the back of the dryer which was letting condensation through and was dripping onto the motor. he put a small piece of rubber in the hole to make a stopper and it hasn't done it since. seems like a common problem but unfortunately only very few technicians seem to know how to solve the problem, thankfully it was still under guarantee at the time so got repaired, hope this helps and good look!!

Sounds like the condense pump is bad. Replace it, or look if there is lint in it. ;)
