You'll need to pre-install maps onto it first. Be aware that you should do this at a PC, then use the USB connection to copy them across to avoid costly data charges.

In terms of charges for GPS the Renoir has 2 settings - Stand alone GPS and AGPS (assisted GPS). Basically, stand alone works exactly like a Tom Tom - link is made directly to GPS satellites with no data charges but it takes time to link up and refresh details.

AGPS uses your network's towers to link directly with GPS satalites through your mobile network. It differs from network to network but you will incur data charges using it this way. I'd recommend a data bolt on if you plan on using AGPS as it can be pricey.

To switch between modes, go to Settings, Connectivity, GPS type and select the one you want to use.

In terms of map software, you're best off googling Java GPS applications - Way Finder is good and Google maps isn't too bad either, but it all comes down to personal preference.

For your information, Nokia 5320 does not has GPS receiver and so you cannot use maps for navigation.

To Get Gps on ur phone first u need to have a full version map of the country whereever u live, for I also have the same phone and I use mymapindia for gps and navigational purpose.

Gents,

It is quite simple

1. make sure you omnia is connected to the internedt

after insalling the route 66, go to

2. route 66 main menu

3. click on extras

4. scroll down and click on update
it will download and update

5 exit and go to extras again

6. now click on MAPs, you will find that Indi map would be seen as unlocked. select and enjoy

I have used many other gps maps in India but find that route 66 for India to be most accurate among them. but please note I was told that THIS IS AVAILABLE ONLY FOR 6 MONTHS ONLY. hope some one lets us know how to extend this.

hey! i've found out no need to hack hardware or use a-gps. open GPS data in connectivity folder , look at satellite status and hold the phone far from your body. I always get lock in less than 1 minute. then exit GPS data and open nokiamaps. Garmin also locks faster than nokia maps, so i suspect the problem is in nokia maps sotware. I put GPS data icon in active stanby applications for quick launch.

i think your phone model does not support location beta by google...
you can access google maps though using your phone browser..

There are no India maps for tomtom. For India maps you may use Mapking, SatNav or MapMyIndia (best maps but with lousy software).

Sure it will, use a Bluetooth GPS Reciever and a program with indian maps and you cant go wrong.. Try http://www.nav4all.com, its for free and pretty simple to use. They also have references to dealers og Bluetooth GPS-devices.
