    Dishwasher model ADP 5550

Start button flashes continually, but will not work on any program except to start draining each time the button is pushed and held down for a couple of seconds as was suggested on this fixya page. I have turned the dial to other programs and pushed the start button but it just continues to flash. This dishwasher is not 2 years old and has had very little use,

    Please help. Thankyou.

Flashing start button. Not functioning on any cycle. Always displays rinse cycle and sounds like it might be pumping out. Does this for about two minutes before stopping. Filters appear clean.

The start light is flashing on and off and the programmer wont change to another programme it stays on the normal programme and the dishwasher will not start

Seems to be relatively common. Ma doing one now with that exact problem. If you hold button in for about 10 seconds, it should reset.(switch off then on again to push start.). If same action continues, the electronic module needs to be replaced.

Dishwasher won't start - I get an F7 message on my ADP5966

Remove the filter on the floor of the machine, including the metal grill. Press & hold the start button (like you do when you want to cancel a programme). this will drain the water out of your clogged up drain outlet. Clean your filter and grill and replace it. My guess is that the sensor in the drain (a little glass tube) measures whether the water going out is clean enough to decide that your dishes are now rinsed correctly. If your filter's clogged, the water going down the drain is still dirty. After a while it gets sick of trying and stops the machine. F7 in whirlpoolese may mean "Clean my filter

I had the same problem. Indicator flashing. F7 displayed. Nothing seems to work.
The following worked for me:
Remove the filter on the floor of the machine, including the metal grill.
Press & hold the start button (like you do when you want to cancel a programme). this will drain the water out of your clogged up drain outlet. Clean your filter and grill and replace it.

My guess is that the sensor in the drain (a little glass tube) measures whether the water going out is clean enough to decide that your dishes are now rinsed correctly. If your filter's clogged, the water going down the drain is still dirty. After a while it gets sick of trying and stops the machine.
F7 in whirlpoolese may mean "Clean my filter now or you can wash your own bloody dishes"
