There's no such setting because there's no build-up of cooking residue - hence self-cleaning. You will need to clean the trays though because it's impossible to make them self-cleaning.

SOURCE: can't open oven door after using self cleaning mode.

It just needs to cool a few minutes( 15 minutes or less once everything is yurned off) and will open easily, don't force it.

My older model electric hotpoint selfcleaing range, lower oven self cleaning function is not working. what could be wrong, maybe i didn't set a control knob correctly, don't have a maual for t

Back to the fifties! If the lower oven cooks normally, the heating element probably is OK. For self cleaning the normal temperature setting is bypassed and the heating element is set to a substantially higher level. Your oven may be unable to self clean because operation of the knob may not actually start the cycle. The thermostat could need replacing even though normal cooking is OK.

How do I start the self cleaning? I hit clean and it does not start

On most self-cleaning ovens after you push the clean cycle button you have to tell it how long you want it to clean. Try pushing clean then pushing 3:00 for 3 hrs. If you don't have a number pad try pushing the clean pad several times and see if it cycles through clean levels like low, med or high. Then after you tell it how long to clean hit start. If you don't have a start button the oven should start cleaning after around 5 seconds. It will lock the door and begin the clean cycle. Also remember it takes around an hour for the oven to cool and unlock after the cycle is finished. Hope that helps.
