In yahoo messenger in the menu goto Messenger -> preferences and in general category disable "Start yahoo messenger automatically"....
As for IE what does it show when it pops up.... coz i doesn't have autostart...does it goto a particular site... if so your site could have been affected by adware...

When I start yahoo messenger, a window appears! it says :" An error occurred when accessing to plug-in social view "! I don't understand and how can I solve that?

think the plug-in referred to is the Yahoo server one as opposed to any of the plug-ins for Yahoo Messenger
It seems your having trouble navigating the Yahoo Server
Make sure your IE is up to date and not set to 'work offline' in tools - Even if you have another browser set as default IE is interlinked with Messenger
Check you have all your support software loaded for Messenger using the links on this page to help

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messeng...

Note - Flashplayer and Shockwaveplayer must be for IE

Restart your computer

If you still have a problem try running Yahoo Messenger in Compatibility Mode (if its a windows 7 issue)

Right click on your Messenger desktop icon and select 'Properties' Click the Compatibility tab and select to use compatibility mode - choose an OS that you know was successful and click OK

Webcam did not work for yahoo messenger chat say webcam is not connected

In addition to the webcam set up you will need to check the support software -
1) Internet Explorer - IE is coded with Yahoo Messenger and responsible for most functions - Signing in, games, etc. You do not need to make it your default browser but keep it up to date and clean.
2) Microsoft DirectX . This comes pre-loaded on most Windows computers but has to be updated
To start the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, click 'Start', click 'Run', type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK
Run through the tabs checking the 'notes' windows for information
The version will be shown on the 'Systems' tab
YAHOO MESSENGER WEBCAM SET UP
Plug in your webcam and visit this site - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.
Do not proceed if the camera fails to work here, but concentrate on your webcam software / drivers
http://www.testmycam.com/
Having proved your cam is working ,you can configure it to Yahoo Messenger 10.
COMPATIBILITY WITH YAHOO MESSENGER
You MUST use Internet Explorer to visit this page, with your webcam plugged in, to check compatibility and automatically download the latest webcam control. Make sure your webcam broadcasts on this page before moving on
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messeng...

CONFIGURE SOFTWARE
Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start - if you have been using it elsewhere the Yahoo software may have difficulty in locating it. Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in, if yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.
Of all the chat programs, Yahoo is the most painful software to set up but if you follow these instructions you should be ok.
INTERNET CONNECTION
Webcam connected
Open messenger - on top toolbar. Left click ( > ) Messenger > Preferences > Connection - Select 'no proxies' or 'connect direct to the internet' depending on the version of messenger you have
make sure your internet connection and country are correct in the lower two boxes > Apply > OK
TESTING
> Messenger > My webcam - the warning panel will launch, click 'OK' and your webcam will start.
SET WEBCAM DEFAULT
With webcam still running > Messenger > Preferences > Webcam Broadcast > Camera Source - set your webcam as default using dropbox. > Camera Settings - adjust settings to suit. > Apply > OK
Take a note of any additional software, if you have multiple choice for Camera Source, you may wish to uninstall any redundant webcam software later to prevent conflicts
AUDIO
Open Video and Voice - run through your default equipment and make a test call - click OK

Instant messenger opens automatically when I start my computer, but my computer is slowing and I think it has to do with the things that are activated at start-up.. How can I stop this ?

1)right click the messenger icon on the taskbar and go to preference and search through the various tabs. you will find " show icon in tray" uncheck that and click apply and ok. thats it.
2) click on START----RUN then type in " msconfig " and go to start up tab and uncheck ms messenger( or for that matter any other programme you do not like to run at start up). click apply and ok. Restart the system and click the "do not show this message again". Do not forget to thank me hah hah. Feel free to post in any queries to my mail address i.e. justice_thounaojam@yahoo.com

Auto runs my yahoo messenger its a virus.

Most messengers have an auto start function that is usually default set for opening on start up. You can disable this feature in the settings of yahoo messenger and then it wont run automatically when you start the computer. It's probably a virus, just a setting.

How can i set up a programme to automatically run when i switch on my computer

Put an icon for the program onto your Windows Desktop.

Then use the mouse to "drag" that icon into the 'Startup' folder (click "Start", then "All Programs", to see that you have a 'Startup' folder).

Yahoo takes awhile to load up when I turn my pc

When your computer loads it loads a series of startup programs. You can view these start-up items by going to: Start Run Type this: msconfig Click the tab that says "startup" Most likely your computer has a limited amount of memory and cannot load yahoo messenger very quickly. You have the option to uncheck anything in your start up items that you don't use on a regular basis. Be sure to research what you uncheck, because it may need used. Good luck!
