Try re-callibrating it again. The callibration may be set wrong or just needs realigning

My son has managed to change the language to german and we cannot change it back. It does not go into a screen to allow us to pick english. Any suggestions?

turn on your DS, touch the screen to open the menu(from top to bottom(DS Game, Pictochat, DS Download play, GBA Game) and underneath the GBA Game there is a little button that looks like an open DS... Touch that button, Now you will see a menu with a Wrench and Clock & Calendar, a Person, and a Cross.

Click on the Wrench, and then click on he icon that looks like a globe, form there just choose the language that you want.

Touch screen is all over the place on Nintendo DS Console

It may need to be recalibrated. If you already know exactly what I'm talking about, and have already tried, then this sometimes happens with the DS. If not, start your DS without a game in either of the slots. then when you get to the screen where it says pictochat, download play, and all the other stuff, look at the middle of the bottom of the bottom screen. Press the tiny DS there. then touch the recalibrate button. Then touch the things it tells you to touch. All these steps can be done with the buttons, but use the touch screen to recalibrate. Hope this helped.

FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS THE GAMES AND TOOK THEM BACK TO STORE. WHEN I INSERT A DS GAME INTO DS LITE IT DOES NOT SHOW UP. IT ONLY SHOW HIGHLIGHT/OPTION FOR PICTOCHAT AND DOWNLOAD DS GAME

Its possible something was inserted by accident and bent the pins that touch the contacts on the game and now they don't touch so it can't read the game. Also try blowing it out with compressed air, dust buildup or just something foreign in there can gum up the works.

Need instructions for changing language to english

Turn the ds on without a game cartridge, touch the screen, the next page should show up where you can enter pictochat, at the very bottem there is a small icon resembling a ds, touch on it with your stylus, it will bring up another four icons, touch the spanner icon it should be the first icon from left, you will now see 3 icons click the one that resembles a circle, then in the next page youll want to choose the one on the top left of the screen, touch it with the stylus and confirm by pressing A, press B to go back through the menus until it asks you to shut down press A to shut down and then turn back on, the ds will now be set to english.

Turn on DS Lite, goes to health page, then to calendar/clock page, then to Pictochat automatically. then it picks a room and you can't get out and can't navigate the DS at all. Help, please.

Hi
Chances are your touch screen is faulty.
If you have warranty then send it in, if not you can try and repair it yourself, its pretty easy to do.

Buy yourself a new touch screen (I use ebay at around £3-£4 per screen), take apart your Ds lite, open the respective flexi-cable connectors, remove the flexi-cables from the motherboard, CAREFULLY peel the touch screen away from the bottom screen, peel off the surround, place it onto the new touch screen, attatch the new touch screen to the bottom screen, reverse the dismantling process and with any luck you have sorted out the problem.

Hope this helps.

Nentendo Ds - Touch Screen - Linement

Hi did you try the calibration test in the ds settings. And if it is a new ds there might be something wrong with it. Or sometimes when you hold it at a weird angle it looks like you're touching one thing but you're touching something different.
