ASUS M2N-MX SEPlus/Nvidia 9500gt video jerks every 5 seconds

Hello, setup new pc,ASUS M2N-MX SEPlus with AMD Athlon 64 2X CPU, 2 Gb Ram. Running any animation, after 5 seconds the animation will stutter, and proceed 5 seconds to do then the same.
This also happens with on board video card. Changed resolution, all kinds of enhancements etc, without result. The asus probe gives normal voltages, and nothing is overheating. So now I am lost, does anyone know a solution for this, my sincere thanks in advance!

I did re-install xp pro, now on a machine with only on board nvdia video card, and still have the problem that every 5 seconds animations stutter for a 4 seconds, and normal animation follows for another 5 sceonds,and so on. I went through some more forum, and found out,that this mb is a misfit, can't even boot on usb stick!(Hello,this in 2008?) Also no support for USB 2.0!
So I am looking for a better mb suitable for my AMD CPU.
Many thanks for your interest and efforts.
Kind Regards,
Henk

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Motherboard Issue

Hi Tomokato,
This maybe nothing but the first thing I checked is the CPU.
Supported CPU list through Asus web site for M2N-SLI
(Click on this link). http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=M2N-SLI
The first supported 64 X2 is;
Athlon 64 X2 3600+ (CU),512K,65W,rev.F2,SocketAM2
Second CPU supported;
Athlon 64 X2 3600+ (DD),1MB,65W,rev.G,SocketAM2

The CPU that you are using is not supported.
Since this is a new CPU, you might be able to exchange it for the Athlon 64 X2 3600+ (CU),512K,65W,rev.F2,SocketAM2.
Link to Asus main web site for M2N-SLI.
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=M2N-SLI&SLanguage=en-us
Suggest you add the above link to you're favorites.

Even you're memory is not supported. As seen in user manual page. 2-13.

Have more questions, feel free to ask.

AMD Athlon 64x2 can't install, help!

which version update did you do?
only after 0804 will work

FAQ from ASUS

My system may refuse to boot under AMD Althon64 x2 6000+ CPU (OPN :ADX6000IAA6CZ) with 2x DDRII-800 memory combination.
The same problem does not happen with other CPUs, nor would it happen with memory modules of any lower specifications.
How can I solve this problem?
Please kindly update motherboard BIOS to version 0406 or later to resolve this problem.
BIOS 0406 can be downloaded form the link below:
