If the ribbon is moving right on the I-4208 so far that you aren't getting print on the left of your label, the typical solution is to make sure that your ribbon roll is pushed all the way in, as far as it will go (at the top center of the printer on the black hub where the ribbon and it's cardboard core slide on). Similarly, make sure that the used ribbon that is winding on to the Rewind Hub at the top front is also in (to the left) as far as it will go).
The ribbon error may have different origins:-
- check that the winding is externe.
- Check that the ribbon core is fitted corectly.
- Check that you selected thermal printing in the driver.
- Check tha the size of the label is correct and that the interval between label is correctly propgramed.
heck that the the value of the ribbon motors is not set to -15.
is possible calibration issues. please run manual calibration,
go through the setings and run MEDIA and RIBBON CALIBRATION.
if ask to load labels,
open printhead, take 2-4 labels from the back papel and load the back paper normaly.
then press enter. Ask for REMOVE RIBBON? open printhead and move the ribbon from left to the rigth of the printhead (remove from the sensors(left and side)) press enter.
let the printer save that figers from the sensors (back paper/no ribbon)
ok, put all back on normaly (labels and ribbon set up proply) press enter.
The printer going to run the calibration, if stop on the gap?! save (press twice on SETUP Button.
SAVED? OK. turn of and turn on again, send the job.
Hope help. Rate please. Thanks.
You have to calibrate the printer. It thinks there is no ribbon (thermal mode) so it's not winding the ribbon up. The instructions are on page 11 of the manual - 4.2 Ribbon Sensor Calibration Note: Please make sure the ribbon is properly installed before doing this calibration. Please follow the steps below to calibrate the ribbon sensor. 1. Turn the printer power off. 2. Press and hold the FEED button then turn on the printer. 3. The LED will turn orange then blink red 5 times. Release after the first red blink and before the 5rd. 4. If the ribbon is properly installed the light will turn green. If it is not it will turn red and blink.
I hope this information will help. If you have the manual, can you check and make sure that the ribbon is threaded through the right path. If it's not, there won't be enough tension on the ribbon and the ribbon will get sloppy as you use it. If my information was helpful, please rate it. Thanks for using FixYa.com
I thought the PT65 took a thermal tape that didn't have an ink ribbon.
Compare the part number on the tape cassette with the list of compatible types listed in the labeller's instruction manual.
Believe the only compatible cartridges are: M-Knnn/B, where NNN is one of 221, 222, 223, 231, 232, 233, 521, 531, 621 or 631, or M-K221S/B or M-K231S/B
