Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Hi mr stick, the file; HPPhotoSmartExpress.msi is just one *.msi file that's installed by the printer software program for your printer. You can see the *.msi files listed within
C:\Program Files\HP or similar HP folder. Power off your printer.
Uninstall your HP printer software through control panel, add and remove programs. Than manually delete the HP folder in Program Files.
Than go to HP's web site, click on this link: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/welcome.html#Product
Once here, slide your mouse over to (Do not click on), "Support & Drivers". Under Step 1, left click the empty circle next to: Download drivers and software (and firmware). Under Step 2, type your model number of your printer than click," GO ". Under, Product search results click on your printer.
In the next link click on your operating system. At this point you have two options. You can power on your printer & click, "Automatically check to see if you have the latest software and drivers". Allowing HP to find your printer & download the latest software for your HP. Or you can choose to download the driver software from the list of drivers. (Suggest you allow HP to scan & find your printer).
Read each screen & follow HP's online instructions. Be sure to restart your system when finished. It would help to check Windows update service after windows reloads. Everything should workout just fine

I'm assuming the msg you are getting is 'NOW installing hp...msi. This happens when your printer
driver is looking to install a function that it needs to operate, and needs this file to do so. You can
wither reinstall your printer drivers, or find this file from the printer disk, and place it in the directory that the msg is looking for it in. Once it finds the file, it will install the needed functions and the msg will not come back.
